Dude looks like he's the real deal....At least Coby thinks so when he dropped in a cool 38 on the Lakers. Hey Mello....no need to rush back with your 30 shots a game..take your time and make sure that injury is healed. :dancing:

China Town comes to MSG? First off he's Palo Alto, CA and isn't Chinese. Why was it really necessary for this post to make a reference to where you thought he was from?

i saw him play with palo alto high school when my bro played against him.
weird seeing him get so damn famous...
same with watching kerry walsh when she was at Stanford :P
and yeah, hes playing very well... but also know that hes playing hella minutes. they also said they want to put less focus on his scoring, so his pts/game average will most likely go down...
They were going to end his contract too; then he just went into beast mode

oh well. you cant really blame them with fuckin steph and monte in the back court.
plus, its gotta be hard to compare lin to those 2 in practices as well...

It's the Harvard thing. Most people sleep on schools that aren't as known for their sports programs. But every now and then, there's someone who just comes out of nowhere like Lin.
Yeah, it's gonna suck when his minutes get cut. I like him, he works his ass off on the court, unlike a lot of other people (4th quarter LeBron, for example.)

Well shit head....maybe you'd better direct you comments at all the new Asian hoop fans flooding into the garden...they seem to have some connection with him and what's wrong with that? You're a hypersensitive moron if you took the Chinatown comment to mean geography or derogatory. Why was it necessary you foolishly ask....Well for starters the Garden was half empty 2 weeks ago, and now you can't get a ticket. And because he doesn't seem to shy away from his heritage, nor his Ivy league roots...why do you?

I am still coping with losing Chris Paul and David West to even think about another team.

Taiwanese, Chinese?? What's the difference??
Nationality may be different, but the ethnicity is the same.
I just hope Lin can keep the starting PG spot for the Knicks, which would be amazing.

Did I incorrectly spell a nickname ? LOL
I actually thought of using some grammatical errors, thinking it would make you feel more comfortable, and possibly even solicit a real response....Guess Not . :)

No Kobe is his real name assmunch. And the fact that you live in NY and still fucked up Carmelo's nickname shows how much you know about basketball. Stick to motorcycles and whatever right wing drivel Faux spews out as you have no peers on those subjects.

All I can say is LINSANITY!!! I am proud to see the first Asian American play in the NBA. He has a great story a kid from Harvard and now playing on one of the largest stages in the NBA! He is a great role model that being humble and hard work pays off and playing as a team helped the Knicks to be a hot ticket again. Yeah I can say I gave up on them but now with Lin on the team and they are winning, heck yeah I am watching every night, if they are smart they will keep this kid around for awhile.

Shit head...lol.. Ok allow me to point out the many ways you've embarrassed yourself. Your presence here is appreciated but you don't seem very bright.
Where do I begin? First off there are many Asian hoop fans who have gotten behind Lin as to be expected. He's the first Asian-American player the league has ever seen. Key word there was "Asian" which is comprised of people from many different cultures and countries.
Jeremy Lin doesn't shy away from his heritage. I can't see why he would. Problem is (as you showed how misinformed you are with the "why do you?" part) as I mention in my previous response, Jeremy Lin isn't Chinese, nor is he American of Chinese decent. So the whole "China Town" thing doesn't apply to him.
Perhaps I am a foolish, hypersensitive, moronic shit head, but it's this kind of ignorance that led to MSG posting a picture of Jeremy Lin coming out of a fortune cookie.
Sure Jeremy Lin is proud of his heritage so why would you think he or any other Taiwanese American or person of any other Asian heritage that goes to the Garden to see him would want to be lumped in your "Chinese rice bowl".
I don't expect you to get it because I don't think you meant any harm. It's just ignorance that would cause you to think that people from the Philippines, and Japan, and people from Thailand and Singapore don't mind being referred to as Chinese or under the stereotypical connotation that the people at the Garden are all there from New York's China Town District.
But as they say "ignorance is bliss" so enjoy you day sir.

Good point but I doubt it. I only say this because they don't seem to catered to any other specific groups. I'm not suggesting that they shouldn't but I see lots of blacks in the stands but they don't sell watermelon.

Since when did they start selling healthy foods at games?

I've heard all the talk radio bs about Melo coming back and screwing up the new Lin chemistry. I don't buy it. A player of his talent always makes you better . Leave it to Dantoni to make it all work. It'll be fun to watch

On Friday it was Lin's first lost so you Lin some and lose some. When Melo does return he has to fit himself into the new Knicks chemistry, because right now Lin is the driver at the Garden.

Don't mean to troll here, but I'm envious. As a New York hockey fan I see the Rangers busting their asses playing a "team first" system and risking their bodies because of it on a consistent basis this season. They have done their jerseys proud but will have to practically murder someone to get the coveted "back page" of a local paper (never mind even thinking about attaining the front page). Here you have....Oh Never mind. This is just bullshit sour grapes on my part. this will never really be a "hockey town". I understand that.
Lin seems like a nice kid who's giving the team and their fans much needed hope for once. I wish him and his fans the best.

Hockey is not as popular compared to the NBA, NFL or MLB. That's all that is. Plus NYC has always been a huge basketball city. Given if it was the Knicks or back in the day with St. John's Men Basketball.
But you said some of that in your post. You should be thrilled that the Rangers are playing great right now though.
Plus you got to remember too, with the Lin-sanity and the Giants just winning the Super Bowl. It's hard to get those front pages on the New York papers.

Carmelo Anthony hasn't been shooting that great this season. Plus before the injury the team didn't have any chemistry. That all changed with Lin getting his chance to play. It's like a total different team out there. Fans have the right to be concerned how that might change with Anthony comes back from his injury.
Side note, I think bringing in J.R. Smith was a good addition to the Knicks' bench.
