Growing up in my household we were more for watching Hee-Haw but I do remember Don Cornelius as a nice fella with a great voice. RIP

We toss around "icon" quite a bit, but it strikes me that he's one of the few that deserve it. Sorry to hear the dude was in pain.

It has been a minute since Soul Train was a popular show.
But when I was a kid and the club life was years off in the future, I never missed a Saturday episode of Soul Train.

So many great artists appeared that had a lifelong impact on my taste in music. Don opened a lot of minds.

Don deserve so much credit for giving artists a platform to create and expand their fan base. He also was involved in The Civil Rights Movement. He will truly be missed!
