Several weeks ago there was a thread about Fox News that someone felt warranted time and space on the GD boards, the cries of "propagandists" were tossed out fairly freely and true to form, like guppies to food flakes, you libs jumped right in, but there was only a passing reference to MSNBC, so I felt they deserved their own thread as an antidote, and because media bias is rampant. And in case you think these links came from a conservative web site...think again. Mediate is run by, and sympathetic to liberals. Now MSNBC, or any network or media is free to hire and fire whoever they desire, but what's particular telling about this is The President of MSNBC New's comments, and the fact that Buchanan was the only opposing opinion on the entire network....Mr. Griffin said, “The ideas he put forth aren't really appropriate for national dialogue, much less the dialogue on MSNBC"..........Really ??and let me get this straight....you're the tolerant ones? LMAO......This sounds eerily familiar to speech codes put in place at major liberal universities. At least the writer admits he hasn't read the book ( as if his eyes would fall from their sockets if he ventured into something other than liberal dogma) and my guess is neither has Griffen. But why bother with diversity of opinion ? If Buchanan's message was so frightening, as the President of a news organization, wouldn't the proper thing be to let opposing voices be heard and rise or fall on their own accord?
The body count continues to pile up for simply stating an opinion...Jaun Williams, Pat Buchanan, Octavia Nasr, Shirvell.....
And if that wasn't enough....I added another link just for good measure...It too is instructive.

If you ever get a chance to watch MSNBC panel discussion shows,(TiVo is your friend!), usually from noon throughout the evening, you'll see an endless stream of former Republican campaign managers, pollsters, etc. as regular guests on shows.
Former Republican Congressman Joe Scarborough has a three hour program in the morning every day of the week. Former RNC chair Michael Steele is a preferred guest and voice of the opposition on shows like like Rachel Maddow and Scarborough.
Chris Matthews won't always let his guests finish their point, but he's willing to have any conservative appear on his show and argue for the opposition.
My first extensive exposure to leaders within the Tea Party movement were from interviews on MSNBC.
The amount of time given on networks like Fox and MSNBC to the political opposition just isn't the same.
I know Pat Buchanan used to be a regular on Morning Joe. Haven't seen him in months.
Was he canned?? WHo knows.
BTW, the #1 personality on MSNBC, Keith Olberman, was canned by the cable network.
Unlike Glenn Beck who was dismissed by Fox for playing the crazy conspiracy card one too many times, Olberman was loud but a fairly mainstream leftie.

It's the opposite of freedom, FOX has got you hypnotized. You can't turn away. Lap it up. Drink it in. Pour it in your ears. You love it. You love the warm drone of your prejudices being repeated and repeated and repeated and repeated and...
It's so addictive. It's so delicious. You can't stop now. You can't turn it off. I dare you to try. Look away. You can't. Turn it off for just a year. You can't.
Once Foxaganda takes you thrall, there is no freedom, none at all. Just enjoy. Enjoy our programming. Enjoy your programming. Enjoy your pre-programmed rage and anger. Please wait while we complete your programming. Side effects may include sweet, sweet delirium. Relax now. That's right. Fox is fair. Fox is balanced. Fox is wonderful. Fox is right. Fox is Right. Fox is so foxy. Sleep now. :) :)

Wrong again loser. Stick to what you know. I let Jesus do my thinking. Whenever I've a decision to make, I pray to Jesus. Whenever I need to know what's true and what's false, I ask Jesus. And Jesus never fails me. He always guides the way. And the last time I spoke to Jesus, Jesus said, "Yea, let us all let FOX do our thinking. Let FOX do our thinking from this day forth." Hallelujhah! Praise FOX NEWS! Amen.

Behold the Great FOX News. As fair as it is balanced. As balanced as it is fair. As accurrate as it is precise. As precise as it is accurate. Everything at once and Nothing at all. Kneel before its electric glow. Nevermind that Murdoch behind the curtain. Quench the empty void of your zombie soul, have a Koch. Fill your eyes. Fill your ears. Fill your mind with its thoughts. You are first generation fox-borg now. Our women are so foxy. Watch them cross their legs in unison. We do everything in unison now. We are FOXy.

You recall on another thread about Fox News we had a poster tell us ...(and I'm paraphrasing here) People who are interested in real News watch CNN, and offered this as fact. I'm still waiting on those facts, but in the interim....I offer this.
BTW...I don't think I can mention this persons name...they get upset and disturbed, so I'll allow this person remain anonymous...OK?
CNN...All hard news, all the time.

Yes, you are paraphrasing. I said “People who really want news split between CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS and PBS. Because of the five way split neither of these networks can claim the audience numbers FOX brags about. But add up the audience for these five networks and and you find that there are indeed more (not many more) Americans who are actually interested in news and not propaganda.” ( http://www.hungangels.com/vboard/showpost.php?p=1070220&postcount=11 )
I admit I may have left out a few networks, but the point is [] that people who want to watch real news and not right wing propaganda have a lot of different places to go. The audience for real news will be disbursed among five or more networks other than FOX. E[r]go one shouldn’t be surprised if FOX’s ratings are high in comparison. QED. Sometimes a proof proceeds by force of logic alone making expensive studies and polls unnecessary.
Just in case people want to know what you’re on about I’ll include a few other links.

Your mixing apples and oranges. Fox isn't in near the amount of homes as The 3 majors, and PBS. But hopefully the stimulus will address this as cable is brought to Red State rural America. lol
The comparison you make is similar to saying the unemployment rate went down...while not acknowledging that the number of workers left the job market. It's a smaller percentage of a smaller pie. I think "W" would have called this "Fuzzy Math"
no comment on CNN? I thought it was pretty groundbreaking. lol

In others words, I'm right but there are mitigating factors. Factors seemingly important to you. My purpose, however, was simply to show people who want to watch news on tv and not propaganda have lots of places to go, namely to any network that offers some news coverage. The disbursement, no matter how you divide it or what you filter out, still explains FOX relatively higher ratings.

Television news blows. On the off chance that I really crave it, perhaps once every two months, I'll turn on PBS News Hour for 60 minutes and even that tries my patience. It's all lowest common denominator stuff.

Oh...that's beautiful. Classic liberalism.
News Flash...CBS has 2 million more viewers than Fox in Prime time
****mitigating factor ( they're in 20 million more homes)

Paging Ben.."Please come to the courtsey Desk" Next time you copy and paste your soul mate Tom Hartman, remember this...
>>>>>President Obama is pursuing policies that "define all the world's major religions," Thom Hartmann gushes. Which no president should ever do, Thom Hartmann warns.
The liberal radio host tried to pass off this apparent contradiction during conversations with callers to his show on Jan. 5 (audio clips after page break)
http://newsbusters.org/sites/default/files/nb%20hartmann%20jan%2012%2012%20three.jpgFirst, Hartmann said this in response to a caller saying voters should not pick a president based on his or her "religious affiliation" (audio) (http://newsbusters.org/sites/default/files/Hartmann%20on%20religion%20jan%205%2012%20one.mp3) --
CALLER: I mean, we're not making, we're making a president (yes -- "making a president") and we should vote on the basis of whether he is the best person to do the job, not for his religious affiliation and ...
HARTMANN: I totally agree with you and in fact, I think that a president who says that he is going to be motivated, led, or guided by his religion is, frankly, a danger to the country.
All of two minutes later, Hartmann enthused about Obama "promoting policies" that Christians ought to love (audio) (http://newsbusters.org/sites/default/files/Hartmann%20on%20religion%20jan%205%2012%20two.mp3) --
CALLER: I just want to make a point that you keep hearing everything from these evangelicals saying they're going to eventually hold their nose and vote for Romney when shouldn't they be holding their nose and voting for Obama since Obama's a Christian?
HARTMANN: Well, not only that, he is, he is promoting policies that feed the hungry, that heal the sick, that give shelter to the shelterless, and back in Jesus's day that would be clothing the naked, but now it's housing the homeless. I mean, he's, he is pursuing those policies that define all the world's major religions and, for Christians, define Christianity. And so, yeah, I'm totally with you, Eric. If somebody wants to vote their religion, they should be voting that policy. Or, or somebody even more progressive than that, more progressive than Obama.
Got that? Evangelicals should vote for Obama over Romney because Obama is the true Christian, as far as Hartmann is concerned. Just look at his policies, right? Written all over them. But if Obama is a Christian as he professes, how could he not be guided by his faith?
Brilliant !!!!!!!

CBS has 2 million more viewers than Fox in Prime time. So what? You wanted proof that “People who are interested in real News watch CNN.” I proved I never made that claim, eliminating the need to prove the claim since apparently your only interest in it was to contradict me (What a fucking loser you are!).
My actual claim was, “People who really want news split between CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS and PBS.” (Within the context television of course and I already admitted I left a few networks out). This claim is self evident.
So FOX brags that it has great ratings in it’s category. Good for FOX. It’s category is PROPAGANDA. It appeals to people who want to hear their own prejudices repeated over and over again by milfs and blowhards. All other viewers (ones who want news) are disbursed among the other networks that I mentioned (and perhaps a few more). From that you can make your own deductions.
