Transvestite hooker shot

Associated Press
9th Feb 2006

Philadelphia - A man gunned down a prostitute when he discovered that he had hired a cross-dressing man for sex, police said.

Brandon L King, 21, was wearing a green jacket with a fur collar, trousers, a black bra and pink panties when he was shot and killed just before dawn on Friday in the city's Nicetown section.

The suspect, Terron Oates, initially told police he and King had been in King's vehicle when they were robbed by a gunman who shot through one of the windows. The story did not match what other witnesses told investigators, authorities told The Philadelphia Inquirer for a story published on Wednesday.

Oates, 18, later confessed, saying he became angry after learning that King was a man, police said.

Witnesses told police that Oates tried to flee but could not get his van started. He was arrested at the scene, police said.

Neighbours said they saw Oates throw something over a junkyard fence. Police said they found a .45-calibre pistol that they believe was the murder weapon.

Oates was being held without bail on a murder charge. His court-appointed attorney, Andrea Konow, said she was not prepared to answer questions about his case.

King's parents, Ervin and Andrea Ransom, said their son began dressing in women's clothes and calling himself Alexis soon after dropping out of high school.

"I told him to be careful," Andrea Ransom said.

King had been arrested before on prostitution charges, according to court records.

"If you want to be a lady, then act like one," Ransom said she told her son. "Real women don't do what you do."

Fans of the Kalista Flockhart series 'Ally McBeal' may recall one of the earlier episodes where she was roped into public-defender duty by the court and the client she pulled was a TG/TS prostitute.

While the series as a whole was pretty off the wall, that episode was especially touching in its handling of the issue of TG streetwalkers and the dangers they face.

Fucking moron. :x If you don't like the dick, just get outta the damned car and go home. A similar fate greeted J'Lo on one of her 'dates'. :soapbox

Oh yes, I remembered that episode being I did love watching Alley Mcbeal myself. It was a damn good one too. Paved ways for TS themed television episodes nonetheless.

Yes, I remember that epidsode well, too. Lisa Edelstein played the TG very well (though of course a gg herself), then came back for a series of episodes where one of the lawyers at the firm fell in love with her and tried his best to overcome his negativity but ultimately failed to accept her. Very well played. She appeared in six episodes altogether.

Despite the tragic storyline, or actually BECAUSE of
the tragic storyline, that couple of episodes annoyed
me no end. This TS who used to escort, gets a nice
job as secretary at a law firm yet can't resist "the
lure of the street" and goes back to hooking on the
side where she gets killed.

It seems as if TS just HAVE to be victims one way
or another. Victims and/or self-obsessed narcissi.

I live in Philly (unfortunately)

Could be worse, you could be forty minnits down the road in Delawhere.

Sad to hear that this type of ignorance is still displayed. I hope they give him the strongest penalty possible.

Intelligence is finite and the population base continues to grow, do the math.

The justice system being what it is, and the culture being what we hope it isn't, I don't hold much faith in this moron getting what he deserves. :?

Side note: and people still wonder why I want my gun permit so badly.

The sad reason I don't have mine is because I know the first person I'd use it on. :(

Actually, the episode is "Boy to the World" and the tranny hooker (Stephanie Grant) is played by Wilson Cruz (Angel in"Rent"). Stephanie returns to the street at the end and is shot by a homophobic John. Plot synopsis at http://allymcbeal.tktv.net/Episodes1/synop/10.html

A crappy little picture is attached.

Can you say -

"Sheit Happens"?

There I knew you could...

As long as you got some "confused" people out there, your going to have TG's shot at, beat the fuck up and dragged behind a truck (not an orginal idea if your in rual Texas I might add).

So be dayumed wit the sob stories, life is hard, if you choose to accept your a TG, may the Holly Ghost be with you because you just made a life that is already hard even harder on yourself.

The TV Show "Mission Impossible" and being a TG have ALOT in common.

This tape with self-destruct...
