Sorry everyone for my late reply. I'm still trying to wander through this site and get acquainted with it.

What brought me here was part word of mouth from other websites and part that I know of a few members here already Jizelle being one of them.:) Oh and I have an idea that I want to propose and Jizelle may even know what I'm referring too.:)

As for the "aboot" and "eh" its not all on the east coast, its primarily a generation thing. In the early part of the 20th century many immigrants from the UK settled in Canada , over the years the accents dwindled of course but throughout the country you can still hear the occasional "oot" and 'eh" and distinguish who is of UK (Scots/Irish/Brit) blood. Primarily yes, Newfoundland is where most UK immigrants settled.

i've got family in ontario (london, Mississauga and toronto) and they all say "eh" but they don't say "aboot"
