Velvet Goldmine was a movie that was a thinly disguised fictional account of Bowie's and Iggy Pop's relationship in the 1970's. But from what I have read about both of them, they seem pretty bisexual as they've both been involved with more than one woman, too. The LGBT movement owes plenty to the NYC music scene in the early 70's, as many of these punk and new wave musicians were looked up to as role models by their fans.
