Hi all,

I am thinking of going thailand, Pattaya.

Do I need to pre-book a hotel there or will it be easy to find a ladyboy friendly hotel out there?

I have never been before so quite nervous.

Thanks

IMO, as far as hotels go, It's very subjective. There are literally hundreds of hotels in Pattaya for under $US50 a night that offer all mod cons such as Aircon, a minibar, most give comp. bottled water daily, daily maid service and WIFI. Location is "up to you".
Do you want to be very close to many bars ( which are everywhere ), are you a light sleeper.... hey, we all have to sleep at least a little bit.
Getting around Pattaya is EZ... One main road , Beach Road goes one way along the beach and Second Road goes back parallel. All the streets ( Soi's ) that connect Beach Road and Second Road have beer bars, all with GG/ or Ladyboys/ or Both.

Getting back to the original question.. I would suggest book a room ( pronounced " Loom " ) for a couple of nights, then when you get the feel for the city , you can move... or not.
Personally I wouldn't want to get off a plane after XX hours, then take a taxi for 2-3 hours from the airport in Bangkok to Pattaya and not have final destination resting spot.
Try Pattayasecrets.com/forums. and also Pattayaladyboys/forums.
Secrets is a small hotel/bar that is popular with the westerners, I have never stayed there. I think it is owned by Yanks.

Be Warned: : Going to Thailand , especially Pattaya will change you forever
No matter how long you stay, all you will think about on the flight home is, when can I go back. You have been warned.

Wow, thanks nikki, sounds so good!

I really want to go, just have to wait a bit save some money then book and go. Would be great to go with someone too if they are going around the same time as me. Will be well nervous to go on my own, but I think I still would :)

I strongly recommend you visit this site and register so you can ask questions: http://www.ladyboyspattaya.com/

You will find good information about anything you need to know about Pattaya, Bangkok, ladyboys, hotels, exchange rates, scams, customs, etc. Many of the board members are frequent visitors to Thailand, some even live there fulltime. A lot of Brits and Aussies on it as well as guys from the US. Also lots of info on some of the more well known ladyboys, hot pics, etc.

Definitely consider the severe flooding, especially in Bangkok, which is the worst they've in 50 years. I don't believe Pattaya is getting hit as hard, but is getting some also. In Bangkok, the most popular place to go for ladyboy escorts is Nana Entertainment Plaza, but there are other hot spots as well. Thailand seems to be a real bargain for escort sex.

Pattaya isn't flooding with water it is however flooding with people from the city escaping the floods. Pattaya is far away from the flood zones

Your search for ladyboys in Thailand should be super easy...even if you get stuck in BKK because of the floods.

Try this technique. Stand at the junction of Sukhumvit and Nana. Throw a stick....you should hit about 5 ladyboys.

or...stick a 500 baht note to your forehead...same result.

Have fun!

Silly question really, u can stay in Thailand, food and good accomodation for under a tenner a day, however if u want to have fun, well thats different and addictive. I have a friend who was travelling with me back in 88 and he stayed in Thailand and now has a few hotels and bars, he has done very well but has said to me on many occasions the only way to become a millionaire in Thailand is to start with two!

Anyway,1 week, good accomodation 3500b (500 per day), food 2100 (300 per day). Girls at 1000-1500 each, 30,000b! see what I mean!

Take as much as you can afford to spend and enjoy

Or if u choose to eat like a king... 1000 - 5000 baht per day.

Take bank card/credit card(s), grab cash advances when needed. Go big or go home. Seriously.
