Sorry acdaddy. I am driving down to Philadelphia Friday night. But I am glad you are enjoying it here. You will get used to everything in time and it will feel like you were born here. Just get a street map, and go for rides around your area to see the sights. It will help you get better aquainted with the area. Then branch out farther and farther little by little.

I have photo editing programs that make Photoshop look like a childs program. The shit I can do would blow your mind. I also have a smaller version in my home with 3 computer on a single mainframe. Way way back in the day I did a few spots for Heineken & Sprite - I was a Planner. Remember the campaign where the guys were hiding beers in the turkey? It was a Bud vs Heine war back in those days.

Media buyers had all the goods and creatives always hated when I needed to use their equipment. Pre Sept-11, NYC was thumping....

Went solo 10 years ago. Now I do branding for start-ups. Love the work, as hard as it is to find these days

Wow damn! We really need to connect, like real talk. I know people out in Texas, Florida, and Cali working on featured film movies and semi know this photographer/director who shoots music videos and artist for like Vibe and shit.

So what u do? Are u a concept artist or graphic designer? You work in commercials? Ads?

Yes, yes, yes, and yes. The client brings me their product and ideas about what they want. I look it all over, and my team of 3 other people start finding statistics about it, consumer statistics, and any other info related to their type of product. My team is good too. Then we bump heads and come up with concepts of an ad. We narrow them down to 3 or 4, and talk to the client for their input on our ideas. If they really like one, we take it and go from there.

At this point it is creating story boards for the ad with quicky scripts. we rewrite them and rewrite them again and again and again until something trips our triggers. Before you know it, we have a 30 second script and concept ready to go. Then we contract some actors or announcers. One in the team has the duty of creating the graphics over the ad. I get final approval of the entire concept. Then call the client and get their input again. If they hate it, it's back to the beginning. But if they love it, we call studios and producers. Once they have recorded the commercial, I get to go over it and edit if needed. When it leaves my hands, it is heading to the distributers for sending to broadcasters.

Keep in mind this entire process could only take a few days, or a few months to finish. But I have never had a client turn down anything my team and I have finished for them. I have created ove 2,000 ads, and I know that you have seen many of them. We also do magazine ad layouts. This is where our photo studio comes in. Our ads are also found on billboards, and sides of buildings in cities. And every time a client is happy with a new ad, I get a nice bonus. Usually from the client's company. This pretty normal in this business. That's it in a nutshell.

Sounds like a small agency which I personally prefer. Not so many hands in the pot which keeps the chain of command relatively low. Pretty cush job; I'm jealous.

I left my agency because there was way too much bureaucracy. Everyone had an ego; it took forever for stuff to get green-lighted. And then the goddamned pecking order; all the big bosses would take the credit!!!

I have a dead windows laptop incase I ever need to use a program strictly on windows, but I think I'm getting to the point where I might just bootcamp my mac again. I got myslef a 46 incher led TV thats adding more blindness too my already bad eyes. Gonna get to the point where imma need bifocal contacts

To be honest Max, I don't watch Mad men. I can not get into it. Actually this is true for most of the shows on TV. The best days of television were gone back in the 90's. The most intelligence on TV is from the Simpsons, and Family Guy. Those shows are genius, and tell a truthfull and powerful mesage. They emulate the true absurdity of real life. Otherwise, I watch a lot from the news channels, partly for information, but mostly for entertainment. The rest of my viewing is from DVD and BluRay or HBO and Starz on the home theater system.

180 channels and nothing on for $200 a month.

Nahhhh don't waste your money sweetie. Every program on the market is designed for windows. Many, (But not all) will adapt to MAC, but do not run the same. Also the internet that we are all using is owned and run by Microsoft for Windows. Again MAC's can use it but something is lost in the translation. Downloads are always designed for Windows and usually have a special link just for MAC, which again, loses something.

Steve Jobs who founded Apple, once told Bill Gates (Mr. Microsoft), that Mac is better than Windows. Bill Gates replied...SO! Which one is the world wide accepted standard?

Go with PC Mayrah. It will always work with any program or application. Mac can not say that.

An Apple rep tried his absolute best to convince us of the same thing 2 years ago. We gave them all the spec sheets of the programs we use. One week later, the Rep said that they could not accomodate us. When we asked why, he said, our programs are too sophisticated, and their system can not handle many of the protocols and codecs of our programs. He said, 2 of our editing programs require a CPU chip the doesn't exist from Apple.

So we stuck with Windows, and continue to make the highest quality Super HD video, 20 channel digital audio, digital HD phtography, and digital 2,650 color graphics. And our quality of editing features can not be beat. Our commercials and photo ads are respected by our clients worldwide for quality. Our computer are mostly HP with some by Compaq.

Don't get me wrong. Many studios use MAC and love them. It depends on what you want a computer for. For basic users that just want to get on the web, save pics and run a word document software, the Windows PC is the best choice. It is 100% compatible with all software, and the web. I know that MAC has some great software for music makers and certain video editing. But for the big guns in the high end of commercial production, Windows can handle all of the software available and MAC can not.

Dont get me wrong, I know some programs are for windows only at the moment, but in most cases nowadays, there's alternative programs that's capable for both mac and pc that will create the same quality of work as any other program. Unless you're doing something very, very specific project based and the only program that can perform a specific task are for windows only, I can almost bet I can match the quality of work you and your crew do using the basic industry programs, especially if it comes to photo editing. Nowadays photoshop, nuke and color can get the job done. Same goes for motion graphics and graphic design. If we talking 3d now, I know theres some programs that is only for windows that can do certain specific things to get the job done, but those are very rare stuff. I can create the next advatar movie with the same quality of work or better just using my mac, and some RED cameras

It is done through the north east fiber optic system. We have editing features that nobody else has. We don't use the regular internet so we don't worry about viruses. We also use only LED screens. The color and brightness to contrast ratio is amazing. Especially with the Super HD video and graphics. I can manipulate almost anything on screen with the coolest joysticks you have ever seen. I have never seen joysticks like these before. The have a feel and action that almost feels like they are alive. We could make a full length Pixar style movie with what is in my office. I can take a Super HD still pic of you and turn it into a lifelike moving charactor, that would look like the real you. Sort of like the CGI in the movie "Beowulf" but better. Our entire system combined can hold up to 950Quadrabytes of data. There is a separate room on the 6th floor just for the mainframes, servers, and back-up system.

I haven't even touched the the best stuff. It would take hours to type it all. When the final products are converted down from Super HD to 1080p HD playback for distribution, they are the sharpest and most perfect product on the world market. We also have equipment to convert to the 18 other digital HDTV formats in other countries around the world.

Hey! This is not a PC vs MAC thing. Each format has it's pros and cons. But you use what serves you best. But I was telling Mayrah about what would serve her best for a basic home computer, and PC serves that purpose better because of it's 100% compatability with hardware and software. That is just not true and you know it. Everyone in our office has the same HP laptop that I use. We run them hard with large programs. Not one of them have ever crashed or even had a simple problem in the 3 years since we got them new. The only things we have had to replace are the batteries and a few chargers. And I can not understand why anyone would think navigating Windows is any kind of a headache. One or 2 clicks to access any program I have is not difficult or time consuming. The menus are grouped into categories and easy to use......In the past 12 years, Windows has made upgrades and advances to be as easy to use or easier in many cases, than the MAC OS.

MAC may have been created by artist, but PC was created by the consumers, and still is. PC is based on what consumers want. That is why they are prefered 24 to 1 world wide, and 30 to 1 in the USA. There is a very good reason for those ratios. You can never beat 100% compatability with all software, hardware, and the web. In 100 years from now, MAC will still not be able to make that claim.

Her screen was missing a link, changed the font of the header, and one of the photos would not load. It was a empty box with a tiny red "X" in the corner. But you have to ask your self, WHY is it more popular? Today's windows are intuitive. They can do just about anything you want. The software is there and it's compatible with all of the hardware. Being 100% compatible and just as intuitive, actually does give it the edge in technology. If MAC could do it better, they would be the biggest with consumers. My office chose all Windows systems because MAC could not handle our needs or our programs. And the price alone would have cost 72% more.

Steve Jobs (Mr. Apple) himself once said that he knows he will never out-tech Microsoft. It is one of the reasons that Apple started focusing more on other technologies like wireless devices.

And you can not make a comparison like a Chevy to an Audi. Maybe a BMW to an Audi, or a Chevy to a Ford. The MAC is far from that kind of comparison.

mac is "intuitive" because it prevents you from screwing yourself up, but you are limited to what you can do. I wouldn't call that "feature" even though that's how it is marketed.

I've used both and it's not any more "intuitive" than windows. They are just different.

Besides the debate should be of performance, because the browser is the future. Regular users wouldn't need anything else. Everyone (even apples) knows this and they are pursuing it in their r&d.

Going back to the iOS vs Windows debate, I'll give the crown to Windows, because of all the apps available outside of the browser.

As for viruses, the rule is if you can't install anything, neither would hacked sites. First rule of setting up a pc (yes mac is a pc), always create a separate user and not your admin account in your day to day use.

By the way, my mom is using Linux and she types with two fingers. So don't argue about intuitive, it's how one sets it up.

Chevy + options will always come out better than a pre-configured audi and it will still cost less.

I like simple but nice. I have an "L" shaped sofa that is pretty big, but I got it at a furniture discount store for $950. Nothing real fancy. It's an imitation suade that is 8 feet one way, and the "L" is 6 feet. But I have a nice home theater system and lots of friends that come over to watch movies.

I could afford to get expensive furniture, but that is not what I like. I like simple and functional, as long as it looks nice. The one place I splurged on is the bed. I have a king size bed made of that memorey foam, so me and a couple of friends have plenty of room to......sleep.

Truly sorry to see you leave. You really added something in your participation here. I would like to make a couple of points about site management. These are strictly my observations and don't necessarily reflect the truth about NYCE, Flabbybody, JWBL, and 1 or 2 other mods whose names are escaping me at the moment.

The site, I believe, is coming up on 10 years. It really is indestructible. It's went through just about every existential crisis that one could imagine, and yet it flies on with no real problem. There's a natural turnover of girls that occurs, and much of this can be attributed to nasty boorish behavior from some of the participants. That's sad. There were some really cool girls on here 2, 3, 5 years ago. Girls I know you would have really liked. One in particular I miss to this very day because she was so prolific and yet so clever and funny that I always looked forward to opening HA just to see what she might have come up with. Sadly she got tired of the b.s., especially the stuff that was directly thrown at her, and bowed out. Then again, she never said forever so maybe someday she'll be back.

And note, I'm sure there were other cool girls around here 7, 8 and 10 years ago. I just wasn't around then to read their posts.

The moderators have tried a lot of different managing scenarios. They've banned a lot of members in the past. They've edited and deleted a lot of posts before. They've tried to use chat rooms to deflate conflict. Seriously, they've tried a lot of things. But ultimately they settled on an upgrade of the site which included an ignore button. If any participant dislikes what he/she is reading from another participant, they can shield themselves from 95% of what that person says. It's not a perfect solution but then nothing is.

What I would recommend to any member is to take a break, occasionally. I've been absent for 6 to 9 month stretches, and it's done me good.

Anyway, I understand your decision and I thank you for coming onto Hung Angels even for a little while. You've thrown some pretty flammable fuel on some pretty active imaginations, including mine. And, again, I thank you for that.

I like simple but nice. I have an "L" shaped sofa that is pretty big, but I got it at a furniture discount store for $950. Nothing real fancy. It's an imitation suade that is 8 feet one way, and the "L" is 6 feet. But I have a nice home theater system and lots of friends that come over to watch movies.
