Neat choice. An old pal of mine from Scotland, Graham Lyle, co-wrote that song! Bit lively if you're aiming to sleep though. I've got a lovesong/lullaby of my own called Grand Central Waltz which would do the trick, but I don't have a recording of it just yet.

So I'll just have to come over to Atlanta and sing it to you. And tuck you in once you're asleep, of course.....:)

Prospero is the voice of wisdom and an all round decent guy who keeps the UK side of this forum in some sort of order.

Dino Velvet is my guilty pleasure, I piss myself with most of his comments because how crude you could imagine something, Dino would trump it with his off the wall sense of humour. I reckon an evening with Dino and a few bears would be a great night.

Jericho, he makes me laugh as well with his one liners and his avatar really works well with his sense of humour.

Ed, the man who finally proves that not everyone from Essex is a twat.

Prospero, a man who wears his learning lightly and is also one of the kindest and most generous souls here.

Sammi, who has a wonderful sense of humour, is almost ridiculously modest about her looks, and would be just perfect to wake up to in the morning.

Dino who is kinder and more reflective than his HA persona would have you believe. A gentle soul, but with the finest sense of humour on the entire web.

True.. I wasn't disputing your opinion at all. Just stating a realistic fact. It's not just from me,,but many others and on other forums. I have no beef with tsvdman....He's a little rough on Kelly, ( but he's not alone there...) but he feels he a reason, and who the fuck am I to question that ...? I very much approve of all this sheep-shagger talk.

Semi-finals of the rugby world cup in NZ this weekend, Dino.

Wales vs France then a serious grudge match between Australia and New Zealand in the other. Try and watch them if you can, should be good.

Three out of the four sides have a major national sideline in sheep-shagging.

The French eat them after they've been shagged. :dancing:

And yes I'll be there with hubby making movies for my new site

and something nice - I love your avatar of domino

Why thank you Miss Shore, I appreciate your appreciation of Domino, one of the prettiest faces on the planet.

Of course Kelly your not exactly a minger yourself and I could easily have chosen your beautiful face but was afraid your hubby might get jelous and want to beat me over the head with a baseball bat when he comes to London.

So when you come to London to make your movies would you require a dolly grip, best boy or sound man by any chance. I would be very happy to assist behind the scenes. :)

Prospero

And Kelly I apologise for suggesting that you might be here to escort. I simply had no idea.

Ed - do you think our American friends know what a minger is? I'll leave to you to explain

Edwoodwoodwood

Kelly is a very intelligent woman so she will understand that I have given her a compliment albeit not sure yet if Minger is in the English dictionary.

I thought that was a bit presumptious of you to suggest she was escorting when I was about to invite Kelly and her husband to dinner cos I'm a gentleman and escorting never even crossed my mind.

The poem was blue guitar by Wallace Stevens. The poem was about a painting by Picasso of a guitar.
Nice full circle. Now we need someone to write a song about the etching about the poem about the painting about the guitar.

I agree. My main gigging guitar is a 33-year old Lowden, handbuilt in Northern Ireland. Battered and bruised, not a beauty, but the sound is unbelievable, especially tuned to DADGAD and with a bass sustain that lasts for ever.

However, a mate of mine has a Fylde guitar, built in Blackpool, which was made from the staves of whisky barrels. I get distracted by the glorious aroma when he plays it and and we almost always kill half a bottle of malt as a result!

Ahh dadgad - you can't fail to write something beautiful in that tuning...

I like that your mate's guitar had some history to it - was it a nice guitar too?

I've got a Crafter as my main acoustic - nothing too special, but sounds nice after I leave the strings for ages (prefer the warmth).

Have you heard any Breedlove guitars? They look awesome, but I've never played one...

I have lots of guitars. Other main gigging one is a Taylor 714 concert size. Tried Breedloves, but unless you can spend high, they're a bit ordinary, I find. Too much top end and fairly dead. Nowadays the best American acoustics come from the boutique luthiers and some of them are terrific value - bit like Brook, Atkin, and Fylde in the UK. Yes, as for Fylde, Roger Bucknall has never built a bad one.

I've been offered up to £5K for my Lowden, but it's not the money, it's the sound. Mine till I die.

Do not be alarmed, the story has a happy ending...

From The Independent:

A German (https://www.independent.co.uk/topic/Germany) man resorted to calling a police emergency number because he was being chased by a baby squirrel (https://www.independent.co.uk/topic/squirrels).
Officers in the city of Karlsruhe were sent to help the man after he became exasperated that he could not shake off the tiny rodent.

However, when a patrol was sent to the scene to investigate on Thursday morning, they did not have too much trouble diffusing the situation.

A police (https://www.independent.co.uk/topic/Police) spokesperson said officers were able to catch the infant red squirrel after it fell asleep from exhaustion from the chase.
“The squirrel has fallen asleep because of the horror,” police jokingly wrote in their report of the incident.
Officers appeared to have grown attached to the animal, which they named Karl-Friedrich, adding in their account of events he had become “a new mascot”.
Karl-Friedrich was taken in by police, who provided care for him until he was later taken to a rescue (https://www.independent.co.uk/topic/Rescue) centre.
Orphaned baby squirrels can often exhibit strange behaviour, such as a lack of instinctual fear.
Karl-Friedrich was not the only squirrel to hit the headlines in Germany for a run-in with the law in recent weeks.

In July, a man in Bonn (https://www.independent.co.uk/topic/Bonn) called police after he heard noises coming from his basement, fearing there was an intruder inside the home.
However, when officers attended the scene to investigate, they discovered the commotion was being caused by a squirrel, according to Deutsche Welle (https://www.dw.com/en/baby-squirrel-chases-man-so-relentlessly-he-calls-police/a-45039267).
Police later named that animal David Haselnuss, a pun on the actor David Hasselhoff's name using the German word for hazelnut.
