Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is about to get another round of intense press coverage.
Author Joe McGinniss, who has been studying Palin for three years and even moved next door to her home to dig up dirt, describes in his book an extra-marital affair, illegal drug use and much more.
“The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin” will not be released until September 20, but The Daily Mail reports (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2037211/Sarah-Palin-took-cocaine-affairs-NBA-star-husbands-business-partner.html) on a few of the more shocking details that it contains.
McGinniss’ book reportedly describes that Palin had a sexual ‘fetish’ for black men and had a one-night stand with Miami Heat player Glen Rice while dating future husband Todd Palin. Rice is said to have confirmed the encounter to the McGinniss.
The book also contains claims that the former governor married her husband only after being impregnated, saying that her first child, Track, was born eight months after the wedding.
“The Rogue” alleges that Palin then went on to break her marriage vows, engaging in a six-month affair with her husband’s business partner, Brad Hanson. According to The Daily Mail, Hanson co-owned a snowmobile dealership with Palin’s husband, but the affair led to the break-up of the business. McGinniss writes that Palin snorted cocaine off an oil drum while snowmobiling with her husband and friends, and smoked pot in meetings with a professor while a student at Mat-Su College.

Before OMK comes in here with one of his trademark rants about liberal spin and BS yada yada yada, I must say if she was doing cocaine then that explains why she is so out there at times. But having an affair with Glen Rice is something i'd never expect out of her. Though I can see why Palin was pissed off why this guy moved next door to her. If this book is actually released I want to see if it will sell out or simply flop.

The greatest thing the conservative party did was to send her out for 5 months on her bus. The distraction to the biased media has been hilarious to watch. The vitriolic venom that the left has spouted following her travels and speakings. It has shown the independent Americans what the left stands for, hell it even got us a Tea Party Congressman from NY's 9th district, (first conservative since 1920 in that seat).

You lefties keep an eye out, Palin is going to announce any day now that she is running. You just keep following her, watch closely. Way to go Sarah!

Be careful, even the New York Times reviewer Janet Maslin trashes this book as a ego trip by Joe McGinnis and says most of it has been in the public domain for years anyway.

The real question is, should George Clooney change his mind and run for President, will there be similar books about him and his running mate, Martin Sheen?

At least candidates in the USA have had colourful lives, the best we could get on David Cameron was that he was in the Bullingdon Club at Oxford....

This is the real tragedy of sarah palin really I really think she has some substantive arguments to make about the future of the united states.Not just her recent speeches,but she has released page after page about her foreign policy ideas for instance,that haven't got any media notice.She went into far more detail on this,than any current republican candidate. No one talks now about her taking on big oil and winning or even taking on her own party .

And they did before she challenged the annointed one.The parts of the left who admit her excellent past record say she lost her way when she became the mcain vp candidate. No , the media stopped listening or caring or perhaps they wanted this well covered up .Talk about her down syndrome son or her daughters sexual behaviour. That is what happened. I also think she genuinely cares about the US and it's people.

If she doesn't become president, the tragedy isn't just for sarah palin but for america.As you will get another one of the republican establishment golfing set if Obama doesn't get another 4 years (seems unlikely).And america is looking so well under Obama isn't it. That hope and change really is working... . And it comes to something when even a nut thinks he can get away with bringing out a book making unproven allegations of drug use and sexual relationships ,making other spiteful comments about a prominent political figure. Iam sure if she does run the media will focus, on God, dinosaurs , and sex, rather than anything substantive. Is it any wonder that she is running her non campaign like she is?

You know there is a video on you tube right now that show Barack and michelle watching some ceremoney on 9/11 involving the flag, and michelle makes a comment during this to Barack and the nuts on the right are making out they are lip readers and that she is saying 'all this for a flag'. This subject is on many political forums and people are actually debating this. You see this is what is wrong with American politics. There is so much more real stuff to go after Obama for,yet they attack him over this. And you have insane people being allowed to write books about prominent political figures alleging all kinds of conspiracies. It's not that Iam against freedom of speech but that some otherwise sensible people will take any of this seriously.

He's a hack. He's the one that moved in next door to her and the Palins had to build a higher fence due to that. The affair and the drug use is news to me and it seems that if there was dirt out it would have come up a long time ago. Did she sleep with Rice? Maybe. She was single, 23, and he was 20. Even the NYT has basically trashed this book so what does that tell you?

I'm glad no one has written a book about me when I was 23. Sleeping around and drug use would be the least of it.

Funny though. Our current prez admitted in his book to doing coke. Don't hear much about that. do you? This is just a warm up for the next 12 months. the more desperate the left gets the worse it will get.

Arnie, the Americans on this forum will know more about it, but I believe in the US its quite easy to make allegations and even print lies and trash, because the aggrieved party has to prove in court that it was a 'malicious libel' and that I understand is not easy; whereas people use the courts in the UK for libel because, costs aside, the process is easier even if the outcome is not always what the plaintiff wants.

From what I understand, you guys have a better system that prevents or punishes accusations of this sort. I will say I noticed many on the left condemning the author on television yesterday and today. That's a good thing. I'd be pissed if somebody wrote that about Hillary Clinton with no evidence too.

Olbermann, who was a guest on the panel, jumped in to defend Palin, albeit haltingly.
“I’m — I’m actually — on Sarah Palin’s — side on this,” he said hesitantly, before assuaging himself by quickly adding: “That woman is an idiot.”
Olbermann conceded that Palin is a public figure and writing about her is fair game, but still sounded perturbed about the book’s content.
“Most of the stuff in there — why is it relevant and what’s the point of it and how well-sourced is it?” he asked.
