Lord Fanny

Fanny was born a boy named Hilde Morales in Brazil in 1972. This angered her grandmother who was the most feared witch in the city and wanted her lineage continued. Since men could not become witches, Hilde's grandmother raised the child as a girl.

Hilde's mother was murdered in 1979, and shortly afterwards Hilde underwent magical initiation in Teotihuacan at which it was revealed her patron goddess was Tlazolteotl, deity of filth and lust. By 1990 Hilde had become a prostitute in Brazil, a career which ended when she was brutally raped at a party. She briefly contemplated suicide before joining The Invisibles, a group of freedom fighters who want to free mankind from oppression at the hands of extradimensional demons, at the request of one of the cell leaders, John-a-Dreams.[1]

Similar to her meeting with the god Mictlantecuhtli, during which she is granted a great deal of magical powers because she made the death-god laugh, Fanny and Jack Frost dance for an entity called "Harlequinade", who gives them an artifact known as the "Hand of Glory" in exchange. During an invasion of the "Dulce facility", she destroys Mr. Quimper, and she later banishes the demon Orlando.

Wolverine / X-men

More so because his character led me to picking up comics to read. Which lead to the x-men books.

Just from your summary, Yvonne, this character offers more depth and complexity than any comic hero or heroine that's yet made it on to the screen. Wonder if any film maker would have the courage or imagination to have a shot at it?

Thanks anyway - I'll be checking out the stories.

Superman. It'd be cool to fly. To be the man of steel. With a steel cock -- ha ha ha! I mean, does the dude actually have a "steel" penis? And wouldn't that hurt poor Lois Lane?

While I like Lord fanny, I can relate better to Crazy Jane of the Doom Patrol(vertigo comic).

http://27.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lgva25jnNW1qzn5lgo1_400.jpg

I just wish I could use my alters as super powers. Both Fanny and Jane had similar beginnings as i did. I can relate to parts of their story and was so glad when someone wrote characters like them.

Some info about Jane
Jane is the dominant alternate personality of Kay Challis, who suffers from multiple personality disorder. As a result of exposure to the alien Dominators' "gene bomb", each of her 64 alternate personalities have a different super-power.

Kay Challis was molested by her father since she was five years old. The first time her father molested her, she was putting a jigsaw puzzle together. Kay eventually withdraws completely and is replaced by an alternate personality answering by the name "Miranda." One Easter Sunday, Miranda is the victim of an attempted rape in a church, triggering flashbacks to her former abuse, the destruction of the "Miranda" personality and the completion of the massive personality fragmentation. Kay is transferred to a mental hospital after this happened.

When the gene-bomb goes off, Jane and all of her personalities are affected; each personality gains a different power. Cliff Steele is staying in the same institution as Jane when Will Magnus asks Cliff to look after her. Cliff approaches her and she is in the rain painting. He goes over to talk to her and the painting jumps out of the picture and melts in the rain. This was done by one of Kay's personalities named the Hangman's Beautiful Daughter.

I've always gone back and forth between the two archetypes of Batman/Superman. The pinnacle of humanity and a "strange visitor from another planet.

I am not surpised by the great choices of Yvonne183, Morrison and Pollack were great character writers.

My pick, for all time, favorite hero would be....

Reaching way back to my misspent youth, I'd have to say my favorite superhero of all time is none other than the might Wonder Warthog aka Philbert Desenex. For a more mainstream take, I'd say Bashful Benjamin J. Grimm or maybe the Silver Surfer. For a heroic villain, Id pick ol' Doc Doom. Excelsior and 'Nuff Said.
