View Full Version : Porn Induced Erectile Dysfunction?

Did you know too much porn can cause erectile dysfunction? They surveyed and interviewed about 1000 men from from 18 to 35 who said after watching porn 3 to 4 times a week that when they tried having sex with a one night stand, gf, wife, or what have you. The best they could do is a half a stock and then it would go limp. But as soon as they watch porn they get hard. In real life situations though semi hard or soft.
Some Guys stated after not watching porn for a few weeks they were able to get hard again and perform regularly? Interesting.

Cause they get so used to that stimulation and fantasy - according to the study. It's said to happen more to men who jump from clip to clip. So when they find themselves in real life situations they can't perform. It can happen to men who watch porn 2 to 4 times a week.

A few guys sharing their stories....

I wonder if any men on here have experienced this?

I'm sure if the two of you get counseling he will be back up to par by the time you launch your hardcore site.

I wasn't talking about us..I was talking in general...since this is a porn board. And a friend on facebook is studying it in her sociology class.

Anyone that seen my cam4 shows with hubby know we are hardcore and he pumps my ass hard and gets hard just fine..

But nice ass hat comment.

Yah, i can relate.

Looking at that battered old arsehole i've just picked up, i'm thinking, "jeez, c'mon elvis, do ya thing, it's not a hound dog". But then, watching porn, some pretty fresh Nicole, or the next phenom, i don't have to think about it, Elvis is all over the ghetto!

Yah, i am taking the piss.
How many guys were involved in this survey?

Over a 1000 and most of them were between the ages of 22 to 29.

This is a silly study posted by a non-serious person. Just because something is on the internet..... I am not going to waste my time on it. And kelly a facebook friend says it all. And finally, sociology is a good place and class to learn about a lot of junk studies

Happened to me a couple of times, both times I took a long hiatus from watching porn.

Waaaaaaaaay past 29 here, but I find that watching porn bores me incredibly. Nothing real about it, it's mostly repetitive and mechanical. I'd rather see a nice girl in the flesh and make her enjoy herself. She doesn't even have to look like a porn star to get me going.

Not uncommon at all, in fact it's why you hear so many guys talk about having to go through a porn detox from time to time so they're able to be aroused by a real live WOMAN.

Watching too much porn can contribute to premature ejaculation also.

Watching porn makes me hornier around real, in the flesh females, and trannies, not less so.

I don't really get it, but whateva.

Whoa! I went to see my Chiropractor this morning and we actually talked about this very subject towards the end of the session. She is a very good friend of nearly ten years so she knows all the good and bad stuff about me, including that I once watched tons of porn. :yayo:

She had told me about this once before but I just laughed; the whole process of getting an erection is complicated stuff inside the body, and so many factors such as stress, alcohol, lack of sleep, a slew of medications for blood pressure, anxiety, etc. can be the culprit.

I was extremely skeptical of the porn-sabotaging-an-erection argument but I do believe there must be some validity to it now. I think about being in my teen years and discovering Dad's Playboys and those things being gold, but once you find that VHS tape with the girls in motion you don't go back to the mag's because they don't give the same excitement. I think hi-def extreme porn on DVD these days is too much; sex just never happens like that in real life.

Whatever...I would never make a rule to not watch porn again, but I am thrilled that I am in a phase of my life where I might watch once in about two months. I never would have believed that was possible but it is true. I do worry that my current sex-drive might be too low, but I am happy to not be chasing sex, seeking a relationship, or feeling hooked on porn.

I am enjoying putting my energy into pursuing my career goals and the other things I like about life such as making music, writing, Photoshopping, doing martial arts, etc. I worry that I am too young to be so uninterested in sex/relationships but I love the empowerment and security of being immersed in Keltic's world.

It's a strange thing to say, but I hope I can somehow continue to feel this way forever.

I think I agree with your feelings. I look at porn stars as sex-athletes more than anything else. The girls can look more plastic than human and many of them say the same shit with the same inflections. The dudes are often clueless and clumsy, if not violent towards the ladies.

It's getting more and more difficult for me to find scenes that truly look good to me.

*raises hand* Yup. However, since I have no-one to impress at the moment, nor am I looking, it really doesn't bother me.

Porn is the most addictive of drugs because it releases your brains naturally occurring opioids even more effectively than Heroin. just like any other drug some people can enjoy it as a causal user with little or no negative effects. Others become addicted to the extent that there are unfortunate consequences - ED being just one of them. I imagine it's very difficult to recover from a porn addiction since most other drugs leave your system over time - porn images/audios stay locked in the brain forever acting as triggers for relapse at any moment. Hypnosis and Neuro-linguistic programming(NLP) therapists have done some interesting work on how to "reprogram" your brain to eliminate many types of addictions and or unwanted behavior patterns. might be worth looking into if you are plagued by such demons.

While I make light of no addiction...porn included, I don't totally agree with your thesis, although you raise an interesting point...

While the distinction between an addiction and a compulsion is subtle, there is a difference.

Violet Blue may not be a shrink, but I think she's got some standing ...LOL...She imtimates..

"I think of porn addiction as a label that's used to put down behavior that's disapproved of socially," Violet Blue, a sex educator and author of The Ultimate Guide to Adult Videos, A lot of it is shaming masturbation."

Many people it's said...may diagnose themselves as porn addicts after reading popular books on the subject. But mental health professionals have no standard criteria to diagnose porn addiction. Maybe they should join HA ?? LOL

I think it's still an open question, even amoung professionals, but your point is well taken.

I've never used NLP in this context, but started using it almost 20 years ago as a facilitation tool in business relationships, and still use it now. I've introduced it to a number of companies since, and the most impressive thing about it is that it has been measurably successful every time, often in vastly different cultural environments. It's also a fascinating subject to study in its own right and there are plenty of good introductory guides on the market.

Well I'd say I have always gotten a hardon while watching porn, and sometimes in the real world i can't, however there is a causation problem. Me watching porn comes from the fact that im really horny already. Sometimes i have a boner and have no one to fix my problem but me. Other times i already have blue balls from the night before, so it's real easy to rub one out. Also ive never tried watching porn shitfaced or blown outa the water, which is not uncommon when faced with a one night stand situation.

But in the end, you just gotta will that motherfucker upright. Or pull the trick where u squeeze the base hard with ur hand, so the rest of it's hard, and fuck her like that for a while feverishly till u can get your whole dick hard. Then it's off to the races and the rest is up to the ab muscles.

It's science.

Another question. Has anybody else passed out while getting head? Part 2, did u keep the boner while u were sleeping?

Me and one of my friends often talk about how we are a bit numbed by watching porn. It's actually one of the reasons I became attracted to TS girls. I basically got bored of 'normal' porn and needed to get some variety.

I mainly only really watch TS porn now.

I would totally agree with this. For some, watching porn allows a guy to fantasize about his ultimate sexual conquests. When it comes time for performing on the set I can see following a script that doesn't turn him on as much can lead him down a path of limpness. Or if he's with that significant other that doesn't share the same fantasy - and obviously she doesn't otherwise he wouldn't be surfing porn that many times per week looking for it.
