Just wondering if anyone has any figures out there as to what the percentage is of transsexuals who are post-op? Also, I would like to know the opinions of the ladies out there who are pre-op as to if they will ever have SRS, and why, or why not?

No one really knows this info I bet, because there is not even a firm grasp on what percentage of the population is transsexual, and stats on post-ops are estimates based on how many surgeries a few of the top surgeons in the US have reported doing, but those numbers don't capture everyone, especially women who go abroad and live stealth.

I have been non-opp for the moment but have thoughts about going post-opp, I feel myself finish right now, Just hormones have done it for me but if I do decide going post opp it will be mostly to be able to wear things I can't now and feel completely finish.

Good question, although I don't think there will be a definitive answer - there are no official stats.

It's likely to be relatively small, I would think, although it will probably be boosted by those girls who never get into porn or escorting but just want to become the fully genetic woman that they feel themselves to be.

The two major barriers, even for those who want to go all the way to womanhood, will be fear of a botched or unsightly result, and of course cost. One friend of mine eventually cashed in most of her pension savings as she could see no other way of getting hold of the necessary cash.

I would think there would be, at least official stats, that show how many have transitioned, because aren't there only certain hospitals in the world that have the SRS surgery available? Obviously, there are probably a lot of surgeries that take place that are sort of black market, like the fly-by-night plastic surgery places in strip malls that, almost inevitably, end up botching procedures, but it seems like some medical journals would have the official numbers. From what I've heard, it seems like many TSs would have the surgery if they could be assured that there wouldn't be health issues, orgasm issues, or aesthetic issues, in other words, if they could feel good, fuck good, and look good.:) But, it seems like not all the kinks have been worked out of the surgery, so many opt out of it. And also, the obvious elephant in the room is the price as well, many just cannot afford it. But, I wonder how many girls just like their penis and feel comfortable being a woman with a penis, and want a man that is comfortable with it as well. A man not obsessed with the penis, nor obsessed with having the girl get rid of it, just someone who will go along with whatever makes his girl happy with herself.

I'm completely cool and fully in agreement with that. I happen to like tgirls both with or without a penis, which seems to be unusual around here. I guess that my "championing" of post-op girls is simply an attempt to redress the balance a little. In the end it has to come down to whatever makes a relationship work well in bed, which means consideration and compromise on both sides.

:iagree: A beautiful cool girl is a beautiful cool girl, penis, vagina, or whatever. I guess I just disagree with Freddie's premise that you can't have fun with a girl that has a penis, and enjoy the fact that she has a penis, without being the ubiquitous (nice word!:)) "cockhound". If I like a girl, and she has a penis, and she's cool with it, then I'm going to enjoy her penis, not limit my, and her, enjoyment, by wishing she had a vagina the entire time. But, it's not like I would be turned off by a vagina either! And I don't mind your "championing" of post-op girls, it brings balance to the HA force Obi-Wan Kenobi!:)

LOL

Not much else can be said about lack of stats... part of the issue is no one wants to pay for that kind of research, so no compilations of the data exists.

Personally I'm non-op and will likely remain that way. I'm not by any stretch of the imagination in love with the fact that I have a cock (or shenis as I'm sometimes want to call it), but by the same token I don't fret over its existance... I really think growing up as a skinny boy with tits has impacted my decision. I've had a lot of years getting used to a mixed gender body so it doesn't wig me out.

Plus I figured a while ago, if it's going to be there I won't be sex-less LOL - so it and I negotiated a truce on that front LOL.

I am guessing there would be a lot more post op ts women if it didn't cost 20-40k for good work

or if insurance companies would cover it like they should

I heard in Europe that insurance and government cover boob jobs, SRS, and other surgeries.

My ONLY issue with that are the free boob jobs. The thing is there are many generic women with small breast who may want a boob job, but they have to pay for it. Every woman deserves a free boob job.

Dr. Lynn Conway has postulated that there are 30-40,000 post-op
transwomen in the United States.

I agree with you, but I believe it should be on a case by case basis. For instance, I don't think I would get a free one, but a girl who is flat as a bored with a very male chest deserves some help. Or maybe they can just eat a cheeseburger I dunno lol

I don't know if I can believe anything coming from Lynn Conway.

I live in europe.
They dont cover boob jobs in my country anymore...they used to.
They do cover SRS by a surgeon with far little experience then those in Thailand...its a big risc to settle for a surgeon that just started, and learns his skills from one with experience on only 300 patients perhaps. from what I heard, a lot of girls seem unsatisfied with the surgery here, except perhaps most elderly lesbian transwoman, who seem to be the majority in gender clinics around here.

Straight girls generally worry more about functionality and appearence then they do.

On a personal note: I am not sure if I will ever, I rather not go to the surgeons here. I do think the risc is too high. But maybe I will change my mind when I think I really need it.

In my country where surgery is free I think post ops are in the majority...
There are perhaps more TV's.... but I think very few pre op Tgirls on actual hormones.
