They're basically just a chain of restaurants that are meant to remind people of old-timey eating joints, sort of a McNostalgia.:) They're usually only found close to freeway exits, at least in my neck of the woods. People complain about the quality, but I think their food is pretty good.

I didn't know they're still around. We had one downtown that they built a hotel behind during the late 60's. That place was as close to a brothel as they come. I used to love to go there on Friday nights for the all-you-can-eat clams. I guess that was going on in the hotel rooms too.

I went to an IHOP in West Palm Beach onetime just before closing and I think they thought - let's fool the Brit and served me a stack so big I was having a carbohydrate event for hours afterwards. I think I tipped two whole pots of Maple Syrup to try and moisten the thing. (No I didn't eat it all!)
