View Full Version : Is it Possible to "Look" British ?

Is it possible to “Look” distinctly British ? Lately I find myself volunteering to pick up any friends at JFK airport in NYC as long as they’re flying British Airways. Not only is the terminal nicer, but there is far more hot British chics than anywhere this side of the Atlantic. All the ladies seem to have a distinct look…pretty facial features, almost model like, shapely, fashionable, polite and friendly, and accents to die for. ...and why are they always smiling ?? My findings are certainly not scientific by any standards, but it’s uncanny the amount of hot ladies…… both employees and passengers. I walked over to the American Airlines terminal the other day ( next to British Airways) and it was dreadful...I noticed all the times I’ve been in London I can tell the British ladies from the Americans and others…I'll purposly strike up a conversation just to get off on the accent. While at the airport I’m on constant lookout espicially for Libby or Sammi or any of the other incredible English ladies for that matter ...Joanna Jet, Karla Cox Jordan Jay, Eva Vortex, Jenifer English ,TVKim,Zoe Fuckpuppet, Alison Dale
…hoping they made an unannounced trip to the US.They might just have to submit to an additional security pat down by me or worse yet a body cavity search in a private office…looking for potential concealed weapons.Hey…I take security seriously, and from what I see...most of these English gurls are packing...and after all the security phrase in vogue here in NY is…”If you see Something…Say something” LOL I see some sexy Brits and I'm here to say it !!

Stay out of the sun and let me take a hammer to your choppers. I learned how to give a Chelsea Smile for all those interested.

I've never been to England but I saw it on the television once.

Isn't England a colony of the US? I think I learned that in school.

I like England cause they have loads of goth/emo type girls who don't smile all that much.

It's that strange little island off the coast of France. They speak a weird version of English and we have to rescue them from the Germans every 50 years or so.
but they're kinda cool. gave us the Beatles and Elton

Good to hear the women are looking good. I was in London for one week back in 1987, and I found most of the women unattractive. The only ones I was attracted to were the Indians and Pakistanis. Cheers.

I love stereotypes. They're not only funny but 75% accurate too. I'm American so I don't need to tell you I'm a real chubsy-ubsy. I also have a bomb that I can drop through anyone's chimney at 4AM. Pick someone.

On the one hand we have produced eminent designers; we have had 'style icons' from Diana to the latest version, although I found Didi and find her replacement irredeemably dull. For myself I find women here are characterised by a lack of style, a lack of manners, and tend to be plain -the problem is I have lived and worked in France, where the women never seem to get fat, are born with a sense of style most English women cannot dream of, can wear anything and look absurdly beautiful, and mostly, can cook -the one time I had rabbit worth eating it was in the Midi, I never tasted anything like it since, the cook was called Jacqueline, but I'll stop here. France, onyourknees, thats the place to go for beauty and style.

It's a long road from Wigan Pier to Hung Angels..... you Yanquis... if this fellow were to speak to you, you'd not understand a word. Now the true britain is located in places like this, the Gorbals in Glasgow, Mosside in Manchester, and all those wee villages scattered across our green and sceptic land.

We are not stereotypes, we are devo.

And I actually saw more goths concentrated in one place in Marblehead massachussetts than i ever did see in the UK (tough I don't go to emo and goth festivals).

Oh and I think you can "look" scottish, or english, or welsh, or irish... certain physical attributes, but you can never be sure the redhead you are hitting on won't turn out to be from Armenia or Swaziland.

But yep - we Brits do have class and style and wisdom and wit and a deep and inherent sense of civilisation.

You're African surely liberty?

But yes to the Americans here. You can always spot an Englishman in a crowd. Pin striped suit. Rolled umbrella and bowler hat. Unless of course he is in the army in which case he'll have a nice red coat and a great big bearskin on his head. or if he is working class he'll have a flat cap and a fag stuc to his lip. (Translation - in the UK fag is a cigarette)

As for our women? Twin set and pearls are a giveway. Cut glass accent. Their favpurite habitat - ladies day at Ascot and the drawing rooms of country estates. Oh and the debutante balls. (Some of the debutante ladies here HAVE balls of their own.)

while I appreciate the world view Stavros....I'm not sure I'm down with French women. While you may be right about the cooking....I'll head to Tuscany for the finer foods, but that's just me. I can attest that I've been all over Quebec and have seen hot women in the smallest backwoods towns imaginable....but their only attraction to American guys was green...They don't like Americans very much, and I'm perfectly fine returning the favor !

Yes its hard and probably pointless to choose between the two except that I think the French have the 'fine dining' experience perfected, as long as you don't mind lashings of butter and cream; its also absurdly expensive and so not an every day thing, whereas Italian food scores on so many levels but is always better there: I once had a simple plate of pasta in Genoa, with a chilled Montepulciano and it remains one of the most amazing things I have ever eaten. Italian women are also stylish, I think on reflection its a continental thing, and for some reason I have noticed that continental women wear better shoes than the women here.

Italy also seems to both produce and attract some gloriously beautiful tgirls.

Mind you, when it comes to cuisine, my vote goes to Spain, but only if you're lucky enough to get far away from the tourist spots.

The difference between France and Spain that I've genuinely found is that the French will discuss restaurants and then plump for one, whereas the Spanish will discuss what they would like to eat, reach a consensus, and only then decide on the restaurant.

I wouldn't say there's a particular way to look British at all. I'm yet to meet someone in London who's of English/British ancestry, the diversity's great. Each of my Grandparents are of entirely different ancestry and nationality, personally I wouldn't like it any other way.

I hate it when Americans see British people then the American start speaking British. Kind of annoying. Some of the people that I work are British and the Americans are always coming up to them and saying "Hey isn't a cigarette in England called a fag?" Then the American goes off on some kind of tangent about smoking fags or lighting up a fag.

Yep, my village has an entry in Domesday Book, 1086, William the Conqueror's land registry of England, the castle at one end of the high street has origins in the 12th century, and I live in a much more modern part of the village called Newtown.

It was named that in 1380.
