I glad she came out to the world about being transgender, hopefully her story will open more doors for girls everywhere.

The curls she has are just stupid sexy. I think we need more girls sporting the tight curls in this world.

Janet Mock is way cool! If there were a Janet Mock fan club, I'd be a member or even president!

She is so natural.

Probably a function of getting on hormones so young. It is the great regret of my life that at age 13 I had a chance to come out safely but was too scared to take it.

Away from forums like this, there is very little one on one education about the Transgender community to the general population. I learn a lot on here and still know very little.

I feel that Piers Morgan wanted to start from the beginning to illustrate and educate rather than go right into Transgender rights and possibly confuse people and turn them against it without knowing the beginning of why she is who she is and why she is advocating for who she and other Transgender people are without the full understanding.

Some people in the Transgender community, as much as I support them, must realize that not everyone is educated on this subject and rather than become defensive and let their emotions take over, should step back and realize that most people just don't know enough yet and their opinions are not so much insulting as inquisitive. Janet Mock, being an advocate, must lead the way with this mindset not be a bad example.

I'm sure I'll get shit on for this, but it's my opinion based on my limited knowledge.

Thankfully? Really? Under what capacity would her 'op' status be a thankful event?

Fuckin' hate dudes.

Jamie you might not believe me but the great majority of us here find that comment as disturbing as you did.

I think the poster is so self centred that he has no concept of how the comment might affect the person it was directed at or that anyone might object to it.

She is beautiful, but isn't she a post srs? Somebody said that she is pre-op?

Her books a great read. (Better than great!)
So not to spound like an investor or pusher. Anyone with questions about her or anyone who's constantly being told by trans women that they are offisive should go out an pick up Miss Mocks "Redefining Realness" and read it cover to cover! Cis folks trans folks whoever you are. You will learn something

Why the "but"? Does being post-op somehow diminish her beauty or her worth as a person?

She's spent her entire life challenging lazy assumptions like this about transgender people.

You're an idiot.

No, you are the "Idiot" for not understanding english grammar because I was asking for confirmation about whether she had SRS or not.

And what do you call a person who argues with someone who left the forum a couple of months ago. Oh yes, an idiot.

In her memoir JM recounts doing a single solo photo shoot to complete the financial arrangements for her subsequent SRS. Does anyone have this set? She was based in Hawaii at the time, in the late 1990's/early 2000s. If so, please post
