I listened to that Istanbul final on BBC World Service in Tokyo and got them to open the bar up at 4:30 am!

My one regret about Kenny was that he could never quite reproduce his Liverpool or Celtic form when he was wearing a Scotland jersey.

Reminds me of driving down the East Lancs Road in the 80s, when Liverpool were in their pomp and Man U were in the pre-Fergie wilderness. It's a tough one for me, although my uncle Willie did play for Liverpool in the 60s, because Fergie played his best ever football for my team, Dunfermline, in the same decade. And both clubs have had the same tradition until recently of having a spine of good to great Scottish players at the heart of the team.
