I'm thinking of starting hormone therapy. Does anyone know the main side effects of them and what the safest types are?

Also, how long do any changes take to appear?

Many thanks

seek medical advice ... hormones are bespoke to each person ...if the doses go wrong it can kill you ...

sideaffects generally -

liver damage
chemical castration
more tiredness
muscle deteriotion
bones weaken abit
Mood Swings

Time frames generally a year will start to see budding in nipples/breast area.. softer skin, calming of mind abit ... 2nd/3rd year start getting the better results .. of course the younger you start them the better results.. older you start lease afective..

you need regualr bloodtests to montior the levels etc

At what point after starting the hormones does the obsession of designer goods, the inability to get out of bed before 2pm and swishing the hips when you walk, kick in?

What's wrong with waking up at 2PM? When I see my first glimpse of the sun is when I know it's time for bed. I'm still working on my Morning Cup of Joe as I type this.

Kimmy, do whatever makes you feel good. Libby seems like she's giving some sound advice.

Oh let's be real. You're a transvestite. Information about hormones and transition is everywhere on the web and available to anyone who is actually interested. If you were sincerely transsexual, you wouldn't have first started a career in TV porn and waited until middle age.

Hopefully you have a therapist who will talk some sense into you. Older TVs who try to become TS don't tend to be very happy. And this is the sort of thing that creates a stigma for real transsexuals.

Gosh, that was really sensitive. Have you thought about a career in diplomacy? Or is it your time of the month? Ease off, FFS.

Nothing like a sick little dude performing a long distance diagnosis on a transition question ! LOL( are you a man btw?) In case you didn't know this Kim...Phobun is judge and jury ( sitting alone at his computer in his dark bedroom safely out of sight of his wife) of all who seek the "Real Transexual" label. He weeds out the wanna bees, those with gay tendencies, amatuers, the cross dressers, TV's and those in transition....and he does this all for free....kinda a public service to the homophobes. At a time when most people are backing off on thier judgemental tone...not him. He's on a mission. He's one sick puppy...pay him no mind...hopefully his wife will catch him and take her computer back.

Mind you, while I reckon our political differences are pretty profound, you've nailed this one dead right, M8.

I live, work, make love to, and hang with people who disagree with me politically. It's politics...it's serious but it ain't life and death, but it is a start we agree on something ! LOL

I'm a leftish liberal in the UK, so maybe we should just leave it there! LOL

Going back to the main issue - Kim, you should do what's best for you, based on the best advice from people who understand and/or have already been through the processes.

Good luck.

I'm not surprised to see the bootlickers get outraged by any opinion that isn't pure flattery. And let's not pretend to ride to the aid of the damsel in distress. "TVKim" is a TV, a man in woman's clothes, not a transsexual. No one is obligated to fawn over every bad idea that is announced on a forum.

And maybe sometimes certain opinions are best kept private too.

That might in fact be doing someone a disservice. And what good is it to expect only flattery or nothing at all in response to an idea on a porn forum?

Forgive me . . . but I thought all transsexuals started out 'physically' in life as a man?

it might be different if you start hormones later on.. i started anti androgens and hormones at 15 and the worst part of it is the first few weeks your breasts get very sensitive and hurt. besides that the best part is everything else especially no more spontaneous erections

the outrage is due to your sweeping conclusions that you make about people who you have never met IRL.... and never will

Im not that serious Kirsten. I just wanted some advice. My body is quite femme anyway, even tho according to some on here, I'm only a man who wears womens clothes! I did know that already!! xxxx

I'm baffled as to why Phobun has such a strong interest in another person's life choices.

Kim asked for advice not a diatribe. Some people need to get a life of their own and stop worrying about others.

Irony is sometimes so perfect isn't it? Phobun was trying to out Kim, for whatever his sick twisted selfish reasons were, and in so doing exposed himself to be the dirtbag he truly is.

Phobun...you're so hyper sensitive about labels, and if I gave a shit...I'd spend some time trying to figure out why. There's obviously a problem there.
I'm sure I don't speak for everyone, but the vast majority of us don't get all hung up on how or what people identify themselves as . It's too complex and too tedious besides. As we've seen sometimes people's emotional condition is unknown, so there's little to be gained by toxic confrontation you're famous for. It's not honesty as you claim...it's devisive and costic.

"Trying to out Kim"... that's absurd, I called someone, who calls themself "tvkim", a TV, and said a therapist needs to talk them out of this.

Every one of your responses to me is a histrionic meltdown. But your very selective in your outrage. You weren't getting indignant when that escort you worship in Jersey, Dupre, was villifying Jamie French as "Mr James French" for being a TV, or tormenting Rockabilly or any other "toxic confrontation" with PeggyGee, Hara or numerous others. But I don't take you or your selective histrionic outrage seriously; you're just carrying on for someone in Jersey who you admire.
