I've wondered about that many times. With the demographics swinging heavily male in China because of the 1 child rule and the abortion of many female fetuses, is the entire culture going to go macho and make war on neighbors, or is it instead going to be more open to alternative lifestyles like transexuality and larger numbers of gay men.

And if it does become more open, how will the Communist hard liners react?
