It would definitely be a great addition, but I'm not sure how many people would use them. We love our cars so much. There's a perception around here that only old and poor people use public transportation. While it's not true, it seems to be widely held. When I was studying in Sydney, Australia a while back they had a great subway/train system that I used a lot and really enjoyed.

I was there w/ the Navy, no car of my own and it sucked trying to get around....subway has its advantage, even if you own a car....no parking to worry about or drinking and driving.
