Its going to be stupid. Every cartoon they revamp sucks balls! Look at Scooby Doo and all the other crappy cartoons they revamped. They trying to appeal to the new generations crappy cartoons! Why do they keep ruining great classics with revamp versions and crappy live action movies!?

I'm a bit too young to have catched the original show on tv (plus, my mum was pretty strict concerning tv, so no chance even in reruns).

After I got hooked on the 80s "He-Man & Masters of the Universe" awhile back, I thought I'd should give the Thundercats a chance, too. Haven't come around to it yet, though. I got a copy of a Thundercats comic from Wildstorm, but that one was clearly for fans, as it was way over my head, not a good introduction to the universe.

Probably should watch it before the new one starts to air.

I also have a Voltron that I got off of ebay a while back. I loved that show and the toys were even better.

Speaking of old toys I totally have a My Pet Football Monster.. Bigger then the My Pet monster.. With original t-shirt and break-a-way cuffs. He sits on my shelves as I do my cam shows. He's such a pervy monster.

You just brought back some great memories!!! I used to come home and couldn't wait to watch those shows, it seems like cartoons today are not like what we watched. Don't forget about Rambo and He-Man, also what happened to Saturday morning cartoons? I used to remember every Saturday morning my brother and I would make ourselves a bowl of milk and cereal and sit and watch Saturday morning cartoons and then in the afternoon it was the kung-fu flick on Fox. How bout the cartoon with bird warriors, you know, the team of like 4 guys and 1 girl, one of the guys was a kid who whistled, the other was a fat guy, the girl was pretty and/or hot... pretty hot...... they flew around in a blue-and-red space plane, they had bird helmets.

Can't remember the name but those were cool too. I'd bet a remake of that will eventually be made, or a movie. Everything's being remade or recycled these days.....

Yeah i agree with you and most of the cartoons or characters you've mentioned, i remember. I also remember those space barbarian kind of shows like He Man but different, one was called Thundar i recall, the other ones i don't remember, there were like 2 of them.

Also a few months ago i learned about an 80's animated movie designed by Frank Frazetta and i watched it online and it's amazing. Fire and Ice or something like that.

I've always wanted to see Thundercats done in Frazetta's style. But i gotta say i really like the sleeker and more elven like Cheetara shown in the teaser than, say, a volumptuous Cheetara like Frazetta would draw. Still interesting tho.

As this obviously has turned into a kind of "Cartoon Nostalgia"-Thread, I want to share the memories of some of my favorite cartoons when I was starting to watch them (about mid-90s).

My absolute favorite has always been "Gargoyles".
YouTube - Gargoyles Opening Theme (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygrEVnrg3Ic)

Some of the more conventional Disney cartoons were quite enjoyable, too. Foremost, there's the great Carl Barks-inspired "Ducktales":
YouTube - Ducktales Intro (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frGLMtGsotc)

And its spin-off, the superhero spoof "Darkwing Duck":
YouTube - Darkwing Duck Intro (English) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=375ENQbru8s)

I also liked Disney's "Bonkers", inspired by Roger Rabbit:
YouTube - Bonkers Intro (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbqFGapihP0)

It was also the time Steven Spielberg produced some great cartoons, like "The Animaniacs":
YouTube - Animaniacs Intro (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KA0TS9l_nJE)

Its spin-off "Pinky & the Brain":
YouTube - Pinky and the Brain - Intro Theme (closed captions) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzZmU0aGmcc)

Or the great "Freakazoid":
YouTube - Freakazoid (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpjXFF0zIJY)

But "Gargoyles" wasn't the 90s's only cool adventure cartoon.

There also was "Captain Simian and the Space Monkeys":
YouTube - Captain Simian and the Space Monkeys (Opening sequence) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpjBct8mD2I)

And, of course, the 90s were also the time when cartoons based on superhero comics became actually good, thanks to Bruce Timm's "DC Animated Universe", starting with "Batman":
YouTube - Batman: The Animated Series (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEx9r5enZsk)

Continuing with "Superman":
YouTube - Superman: The Animated Series intro (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUcKJflBG8Q)

"Batman Beyond":
YouTube - Opening Batman Beyond (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlobFExM-UM)
