In the wake of Sept. 11th we seem to have forgotten the multitudes of servicemen who lost their lives on Dec 7th,1941 during the Japanese sneak attack at Pearl Harbor.

Thanks for this topic DJ. Two many people forget these times and the sacrifices of previous generations.

We get reminders of Pearl Harbor frequently around here as the son of Admiral Husband Kimmel (Who, along with army Lt. General Walter Short was "blamed" for the scope of the disaster) lives locally and has spent much of his adult life trying to clear his father's name.

We have a handful of WWII vets in the area, including one who survived Pearl Harbor and even in this age where people pay little respect to one another, these men are always recognized.
