Were you at a midnite showing where the crowd was into it?
To appreciate it, you need to be at a show where the audience participates/responds to the movie. I've only seen it with audience members in costume and acting out the movie, etc. and it's a great experience.

I went to the midnight show a couple of times back when I was in college. It was alot of fun, and a much better experience than just watching it on TV.
