A production company shouldn't be having an award show at all, let alone be the primary sponsor. I don't see Capital Records or Sony Pictures presenting award shows, do you? Talk about a pretentious conflict of interest!


a) Nobody else is doing it so someone had to set up.
b) There are no awards that we can possibly win (exception of Hazel and Amy's site being potentially nominated).
c) SMC, Bobs, Strokers, Shemale Profit, Wendy and more have been invited to sponsor and I'm expecting some of them to take up that invitation.

There is no conflict of interest, many award shows are sponsored by companies in the same field. We're doing this for advertising and branding but it's still non-profit and ticket sales going to charity. Your bitter individual who does NOTHING at all but spread lies.

I asked over on HD how are people going to vote on something like Best Website or Even best DVD, when most of the people on the boards haven't even signed up to the sites or bought the DVDs, But I think its been promptly ignored. It doesn't make sense. Its gonna be like AVN's in my opinion. A DVD that has been quickly put together and poorly edited can win it all based on favorites I guess?

The problem with that is I think sometimes you have members who vote who arent "ts" erotica fans and vote for the person they seen the most on blogs, forums, trade events = good PR...............

Anyhow I hope that Seanchai does take that into account because not every person who votes will sign up to all the websites to compare whats the "best" NOR would someone also have seen the DVD however would just vote on the DVD because their favorite is in it.

I won't get in to a debate on AVN's. I'm sure our outlook is not the same and I know you know more than I do on how it all works. But I think we can agree that there are some major flaws with the way they handle the TS genre.

Well you shouldn't take it personally Wendy as people have complained for every winner. The fact is practically any production company can nominate anyone and with the amount of small companies around or models running their own companies, it's easy to abuse that ESPECIALLY because I don't think there is any due diligence looked at into who those nominees are (which explains some oddball entries each year).
Is there a voting process on AVN? I don't think so, if that's the case how come we never find out who the panel are, despite acting? I think they make an executive decision on the winner depending on the PR by or about them, during that or previous years.

All valid points something I wished you'd pointed out when I fielded for suggestions on how to improve over the last few months?
The reason I did change it this year, is because most of the complaints or suggestions were about more inclusion (and this is meant to be more of a fan award) and that for the two previous years, you always get a bunch of little twats complaining the whole thing is rigged in my (Grooby's) favour.

However, I have been pondering over some of the exact points you brought up (ie; have peopel seen/joined these sites) and may have to look at a jury selection for them. I think DVD Director/DVD Performer is fine as most of these can be seen online but Best Solo Paysite, Best Independent and Best DVD Release MAY be better served by a panel.

We'll see how it goes this year. Each voter will be verified as genuine and the point system will remain the same, so it's not just the Top one.
The problem with the judging system was that I found some people were still playing the politics of it or it was too subjective.
Surely Modeling or Performing categories should be judged by the people who watch and enjoy these scenes. This is also why their is a pre-nomination time, so we can get down to genuine nominees.

It's a work in progress; things will have to be tweaked before it's perfect and satisfies everyone. I'm just appreciative that there at least someone trying to do their part to acknowledge the industry instead of just choosing a few winners then pushing them to the side to satisfy the masses.

I didn't want the judges to know who each other was prior to voting (didn't want them talking) but it was a selection of forum members from HungAngels, HungDevils and Transladyboy forum, website owners/webmasters and model/producers. Some took it more seriously than others and it was frankly, a pain in the ass chasing up some for the votes.

Sorry I haven't been more vocal these last few months. Going through some major life changes, personal and career related, and just haven't been online other than occasional Twitter outbursts. My heart as they say has been elsewhere.

I think judges are important when discussing best performer or performance, as well as websites because it seems to me like fans will just vote the girl they follow. I like the idea of my peers viewing my work as well as other girls work and making a decision.

But it's your call and I bet it will be a fun time and good for a number of girls projects and careers.

Just my 2 cents. I'm pretty heavily focused elsewhere at the moment. So pre-occupied that I made no effort to get an AVN nom and unsurprisingly wasn't nominated for anything. I'm not going to make an effort to get my fans to vote for me for the tranny awards either, it feels crass to me. I'm hoping I'll be able to attend both AVN and the tranny awards, but if my other plans line up I may be stuck in San Fran.
