Most people sell drugs because it is easier. You sell the drugs and get money quick. I used to live in the projects and the behavior was the norm. When you have people who have poor economic status, you see that some of them don't care about school and prefer to sell drugs. Although it is not the majority of black males that prefer to sell drugs than to go to school.

I'm a black male and I am going to school for an IT degree. I could have easily got into the drug trade and start selling, but I didn't. It depends on the drive and want of the individual to succeed in life.

It depends on what your definition of success is. There are a great many "successful" drug dealers plying their trade daily.

Unfortunately when the US decided to abandon Americans residing within inner-city ghettos (late 60's early 70's) young black (etal) men were not left with a great many career choices.
