There are many variations of Transgender girls. Some are very comfortable being trans-girls (or as you put it "in-betweens") where as others (like myself) need/want to be complete women. Either way, we all tend to prefer to be regarded as women, because that's what we present.

As I understand it, "shemale" is mostly a porn/fantasy term. Trans-woman/Trans-girl is more accurate irl. But, what questions do you have.
