For going on 20+ years, I have made very few visits to any local strip clubs here in Seattle. I don't know why it is, but I prefer visiting clubs when I'm on the road working in various cities. I've been unemployed for a few months and I guess boredom or some latent desire has caused me to "go local" a couple of times recently.

Q1: When was the last price increase on lap dances? The 1980's? I swear, I can't remember the last time I paid less than $20, nor have I ever had to pay more than $20. They say inelastic demand causes prices to be sticky. How appropriate that lap dances have a sticky price.

(btw, it's $20 in NYC, west coast, fly over country, you name it. Everywhere.)

Q2: Is it just me, or does anyone else find the playas entertaining? I'm not talking about the overweight 50 yr old guys sitting in front of a girl on stage slowly doling out 1's and 5's, and who blow 100's in the vip room. I'm talking about the young guys (usually black but sometimes white) who come in with their homeys, stand at the edge of the stage, flipping dollars everywhere at some hottie while egging her on. It's hilarious. They'll blow through $20+ of singles on a stage dance. And the girls eat it up.

Q3: Is there more contact btwn customer & performer now, than ever? The girls were all over the woody in my jeans last night. Feet, hands, butt, mouth, or whatever else they could use to remain in contact. In Tulsa, last year, I met a girl who would do this vibration thing with her mouth. I put something extra on the std $20 lap dance fee for that. And I'm not just talking about lap dances. Adventurous girls on stage will push their tetas and nipples right into your face.

Q4: Are strip clubs still good value? I would answer yeah, but I wonder with the advent of free internet porn, internet advertised escorts, etc., whether strip clubs will eventually go the way of the dinosaur, newspapers, and rotary dial phones.

All I know is that I was employed at a Los Angeles strip club from 1988-2004.There was a new law put into effect.Meaning that room could no longer be dimly lite,it had to be bright.Also all dances meaning lapdances had to be visible to the viewing public,that all the walls of privacy had to be bought down.The police did hit all the Los Angeles area metropolitan strip clubs.They LAPD were making regular visits and if these rules and regulations were the club could be fined or shut down.

Now as patron in Los Angeles of a strip club give me a topless bar any day.I want a real drink a Heineken with shot of Jameson Irish Whisky.I don't pay $5.00 for a Diet Coke and having to tip the waitress at least a buck.Bottom line is I always had much more fun at topless bar,I always felt it was more friendly and down to earth.:cheers::mrgreen:

Strippers are fucking pyscho anyways, they always have some lame ass story as to why their stripping. And they usually have at least one kid and a crazy husband exhusband or boyfriend lurking somewhere. I avoid strippers like the plauge. But godbless to anyone that chases strippers.

Honeys in Everett was my favorite for the last 3-4 years, Ricks on Lake City Way was always too crowded and too much of a hustle from the girls. Ever Since the top 3 Seattle area clubs got shut down I have only been in the new one near the stadiums on south 1st ave and that was out of pure boredom, and I wasn't that impressed.

So what was the club you were at and enjoyed some good contact?

Strip clubs are usually a very bad value unless you just dont get a dance, I do remember having a couple of favorite girls and almost anything was negotiable with the proper amount of discretion. I really have stopped going to strip clubs over the last 2-3 years except on very rare occasions.

The thing that really sucks about Seattle clubs is that there is no alcoholic beverages at all served in any place with nude/topless entertainment.

I went to the new one on 1st by the stadiums. I liked it. Good vibe. The lack of alcohol isn't that big a deal for me. At my age, I start drinking and I lose the woody. The mini-rooms off the main floor are a nice touch. It's like you get a semi-private little room for the dance but without the vip price tag offered upstairs. And the girls get a lot more touchy feely if they feel semi-out-of-sight.

I usually only go to a SC when I travel to a city that has good ones, like Atlanta, Dallas or Miami. Here are some random observations

1. You're right, $20 has been the price for lap dances in nearly all bars for 10 years. When I first discovered lap dances I was excited about them for about a year, but nowadays it's rare that I'm in the mood. Growing old, I guess.

2. Some unexpected social situations: I've noticed in some bars young guys who appear to be actually trying to pick up the girls -- and probably succeeding, though I couldn't tell for sure. Another funny thing I saw a few times in certain bars was middle-aged women who showed up to the bar a half hour before closing to scoop up the horny, drunk young guys. Also, one bar I knew would be nearly empty until about 1:15 am, then get swamped by guys and girls -- apparently a pickup scene just before the 2am closing. But the guys always outnumbered the girls by 3:1.

3. Not too long ago I met a single mom who was cruising a SC, apparently a part-time hooker who, I think, does not advertise. Fairly intelligent and interesting woman, and quite beautiful. I don't know her too well but as far as I can tell she cruises bars and finds "sugar-daddy type boyfriends" (like I was for awhile) to make ends meet. Of course, it's a form of prostitution, but not the mass-advertising indiscriminate variety. Well, she was a surprise. But a bit too much for me.

Interesting. That sugar daddy stuff can be done pretty much out in the open now. I remember a couple of yrs ago on this board, an older but pretty TS surfaced and advertised in a Daddy Wanted post right here in the General Discussion forum. It was pretty brazen. She took some crap from the usual suspects, but didn't back down. She listed exactly what she wanted. Not sure she found it here but she dodged back out of sight, soon thereafter. There's lots of ways that pretty women can get by these days, and most of it's a long way away from street corner hooking and much of it doesn't involve anything illegal.
