Oh, they are. But I'm dealing with a serious illness in my immediate family, so I really didn't want to leave town. I let these motherfuckers empty the remainder of my stuff out of a storage unit in FL without me being there. Trust me, it was just the wrong time to leave here. So it comes down to being my word against theirs. It was stuff I cared about. But thankfully most of the important stuff, and anything that had real sentimental value, was already up here. But they're scum. I let them have it over the phone. But yeah, I'm over it. Easy come, easy go. Material possessions can be replaced. Family and friends can't.

Sometimes it's easy to say you're over it as if it's a self reassuring, reconcilliatory band-aid. But it isn't. Especially in relationships where you've found yourself lied to, betrayed, and devastated. It might take part of a lifetime to completely rationalize what happened after you've worked past the emotions. GG's have an amazing capacity to get over it and move on. Partly b/c of their support network, partly because they can directly deal with their emotions. I think in part that ability sometimes leaves them seemingly absolved of the carnage and mortal wounds they inflict. You can get over it, but it's still going to take time to recover.
