You can't pick up a DVD, VOD page, or Videotube or image server without seeing descriptions such as "See the cumslut take a...." "Two filthy sluts become cumdumpsters". "...dirty whore take it up the ..." . Bitch, whore, slut, and every derogatory and degrading label imagineable. I'm not going to take issue with guys responding to dirty talk. Some guys like it, and women use to their advantage too. I'm sure the content producers know their market and write the copy accordingly.

Maybe this is an issue that I have. One thing for certain, anyone ever spoke like that to my wife or daughters in front of me would be having a lot of dental work . I'd probably have stiches if not a few broken fingers in my hands and an assult & battery charge. This is not only disrepectful, it's down right demeaning. How can the TS community expect to be treated with the respect they deserve when a few of their sisters that work in adult related occupations knowingly allow themselves to be labeled as such. I doubt an individual has the ability to control the content, but as a group they sure could make an infulence. This isn't only related to TS's, it's rampant in the adult industry and pop music. Yet you don't see many women allowing themselves to be disrespected this way.

@Sunairco,

You bring up good points. I think if more guys were like you and protested the content and not buy the videos, then the content producers would probably change their tune.

That's fine and dandy but I don't see how that fits in to the topic. Unless they are in the porn industry. I agree with your sentiment, though. I love my porn but I don't like coming across demeaning descriptions like you mentioned, and actually go out of my way to avoid disgusting, degrading material. However, the conundrum is that I love slutty trannies acting like hot sluts.

So the point is: there should be more porn depicting healthy, supportive and loving relationships. I wonder what we could call the genre. Any suggestions?

When I'm on the clock I'm exactly all those things you mentioned. That's my job, that's what I signed up for as a performer. You have to have the ability to compartmentalize your job from your day to day life. If that's not a naturally occurring trait embedded in your personality, you really shouldn't be in this line of work. Frankly, I'd be mortified if I were labeled a fry cook or some kind of 9 to 5 day laborer - but even then, the description comes with the job.

We might call it overstocked or discontinued.

I don't think that's what he's saying. I think his point is that porn in general makes sex look taboo which is antithetic to the reality that...

YouTube- George Michael - I Want Your Sex (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8x9rtEHtubI)

'Sex is natural, sex is fun...' Although I'd argue the point that it's 'best when it's one-on-one.' But that's a conversation for another kinky day. ;)

So anyway, it really couldn't hurt for producers to diversify by offering more content that doesn't resort to shock value and degrading terminology to attract viewers. If they still treated sex as something healthy, which of course it is, then it could make it seem less shameful in the eyes of mainstream society. Imagine how much acceptance porn might have if it were always made the way it was in the 70's and never turned the corner into the more extreme stuff? The truth is that we as a culture have become desensitized to it all and that's the reason why we are where we are on this.

I think it's funny how many people tell me I'm crazy for wanting to change porn... because I don't. But I would like help to change it back.

There are some day laborers (landscapers and upscale pool boys come to mind) who make quite a bit of cake. Should a degrading description be applied to them merely because they share an employment class with some people who are degraded daily and make very low wages?

Similar story with street hookers and escorts/courtesans. They are decidedly not the same thing.

I love retro porn. The women were real women, soft and natural and womanly with animal-like bushes over their pussies and furry ass cracks with natural musky scents... as opposed to the psychologically unstable penis-envy cyborg-cunts of today. In fact I get the feeling that back then the performers really were women, and nowadays they are called dirty sluts because they truly are nothing more than dirty slut/whores.

One thing I never got into and never will is facials. For me that fits into the degrading department and it baffles me why so many guys like it. It's gross and proves how retardedly simple minded your average man is.

OMG I love facials! Sorry, but I do. Call it a guilty pleasure, but I think as long as they keep away from the 'hey bitch, want my load?' stuff, it looks great, and after being on the receiving end of my first one of these EVER (not just on camera) last Saturday for a scene I did for Strokers' 'Suck My Tranny Cock' series with Britney Markham (again, I don't name these things, lol!), I can tell you they're actually fun to perform. Like, 'hey, my skills did this!'

:jerkoff

On the other hand, I did it with another girl, so I think that may actually take the stigma out of my personal situation quite a bit. :shrug

is there really a difference between escort and hooker? Im not trying to be degrading im sure one title fits better with some then another but what exactly is the difference except the price. both provide sex for hire. im not judging but to simply let that go by as a fact is a little too easy for all. either one i dont have a problem with but your method of marketing does not change the core product or service in this instance

That's the whole point - when you are a fry cook, hooker, congressman or whatever - you are in a position to split hairs with your peers about the definition of your title. The rest of the world doesn't care whether or not I think there's a difference between a hooker or an escort. They'll just as soon call a spade a spade in there minds. If you can be cognizant of that going in, then you are already halfway equipped to let the stigma of the labels roll off your back.

Just speaking for myself, there have been many people who know what I do and they've never looked down on me for it. It depends on how you present it. It really does. Have self-respect and people will respect you regardless.

But I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

Actually, Google 'sybian' and 'fucking machines.' They were pretty easy to find. And I knew about the Sybian because a client of mine once owned one and he would post on CL to have girls come over and use it. Apparently it got a lot of play, but eventually the girls started buying their own and left the poor guy with a useless machine. He sold it. lol

You could make the opposite case and argue that porn & sex depictions in the mass media normalizes sexual acts that were previously considered taboo or risque.

Just look at the scandalizing behavior that was risque when aired in movies just less than a hundred years ago, that would never in a million years come off as remarkable in today's society.

I watched a movie recently from the teens, called "A Fool There Was." As far as Edwardian films go I have to say its pretty decent, but I loathe to see it lumped in the Vampire genre because of the films incorrect usage of the word. Anyway, in the movie there is this scene where the female protagonist is on a luxury liner and hits on a wealthy male passenger by dropping a flower in front of him so he can pick it up. While he bends down to pick up the floor by her feet she hikes up her floor length skirt to reveal.... get ready for this one... a naked ankle! Imagine the frankness of it all, all out there where people can see it! Not three decades later such an act of brazen perversion would never come off as remarkable. What do you think was responsible for such a dramatic shift in our society? The first wave feminists? Surely not, although they did wage a short lived war on corsets in the late portion of the Victorian era and to try to get the right to wear pants, usually the trends involving showing more skin were driven by popular culture such as pornographic photographs (post cards, stereo views), theatre (Cabaret), and then later Cabaret adopted to film (soft core striptease porn). To say this is not the case is like trying to say that the rise in popularity of shaved public hair is because of the feminist movement (the truth in that one being that it was eventually discovered by sex workers that it was a practice that helped prevent being afflicted by crabs in an era before effective prescription drugs for them).

Oh totally, but I don't think your argument is an opposite case. I think it's parallel. It's that desensitization that takes places that necessitates increasingly shocking scenes and marketing for those scenes to get potential buyers' attention. But while the general pr0n viewing public willingly and eagerly follows this trend, I still feel there's a market for more upscale material.
