.Rar is simply a file extension used by Winrar.

This software is a competitor of winzip, and in many opinions vastly superior.

To uncompress and or use the file within the rar(extract etc) download winrar @ http://www.rarlab.com/

u need winrar and u need to have all of the pieces or it will not merge...

Or you can try rarmonkey, freeware. I've found it very good for decompressing and assembling rar files in one easy step

there is also 7zip, support .7z files, ZIP and RAR

on my second download and still not working. who ever came up with a rar file should be shot. thanks all for your help.

bummer i had found a ton of andrea nobili films

I use the free RAR Extract Frog, works like a charm.

Have used winrar, but prefer 7zip, use it for just about everything.

bummer i had found a ton of andrea nobili films

been using RAR files for many years and never had much problem with them, problems usually occur in the DL of file.

you might try this....open RAR and across the you will see some icons, click on the last one Repair(red cross) and put the files in question in it to run a repair. i've found that this works sometimes.....

Am i understanding this correctly...are you trying to play a rar file?
Rar files aren't media files, they're archives.
You can't play them, you unpack them.
Then play the file.

actually quit a few media players will play split rar volumes as long as they were generated with the compression set to store
