From what I can see, the article and comments are about a transgendered person being placed in police custody (arrested). This seems to be an issue in many police jurisdicitions. I agree that this is an important issue, but it's not restricted to veteran related problems.

I saw a video a couple of days ago. About a transwoman arrested in Las Vegas, who they had trouble classifying, even though she said she had srs in 1995. Somehow, they had her listed as male, from a previous arrest, and were reluctant to place her in female custody, even though they did check to see that she actually had a vagina.
