Just downloaded her album "The Fame" a couple days ago. I really like 3-4 songs on it so far. And for albums these days that's pretty good. I just wish I could find really early pictures of her. I've read a quote she made indicating she was absolutely stacked back in the day.

At first I thought, not another Lady Gaga thread. But I'm pleased to see these pics which I haven't seen before.

I actually like Lady Gaga. She is controversial, zany, open-minded and fun. She would be entertaining to hang out with. And she has worked long and hard on her career. She stands out in an industry where there are so many lookalike female entertainers.

Every time I've seen her interviewed on TV she seems really nice, easy to get along with, and has a wicked sense of humour.

Not a fan of all of her music, because though I have liked some of her songs at first, they tend to get overplayed on airplay and I end up getting sick of them.

Word on the Inter-street is that Lady Gaga is Jo Calderone. The brooding, dark-haired cover model for the September issue of Japanese Men's Vogue claims to be an Italian mechanic who met the pop star at a photo shoot, took her out to dinner, and then, well, a gentleman never kisses and tells.
But Calderone's striking resemblance to Gaga has sparked feverish speculation that the songstress has taken on a male alter ego. New York Magazine (http://nymag.com/daily/fashion/2010/08/lady_gaga_seems_to_be_taking_h.html) collected some evidence to support the rumor: The photo shoot was done by Nick Knight, "Gaga's favorite photographer," and the cover images were published today on the blog of Gaga's stylist, Nicola Formichetti. I find her interesting....moreso because of her pure in your face sexuality and style than her music. Her music does little for me, but I understand that's subjective. I don't think she'd object to my being attracted to her for those reasons either, she's an ingenious creation of sight and sound.

As difficult as it may be...pretend that you'd never seen her act, then listen to a CD of her's. Granted some would still dig her for her music vibe, but many would not give it a second listen...but the combination of the 2 is what makes her so relevent. Nice thread! I think Lady Gaga is awesome! And that's coming from a dyed-in-the-wool metal fan like myself. There are a lot of things that are cool about her; she's a metal fan, dancing onstage to old school Metallica songs, taking pictures of herself with members of KISS and Iron Maiden, and saying in iterviews that she's a fan. Lady Gaga is, unquestionably, heavily influenced by Madonna. She has talked about this. I mean, we're all, well, molded by the people we appreciate.
Look at the impact James Dean had. Marlon Brando. Marilyn Monroe. Steven Spielberg has been very influential. (Or look at the masters of horror flicks: George Romero, Tobe Hooper and John Carpenter. They've had a huge influence on young horror directors.)

Up until yesterdy I couldn't care less about her. I don't like that kind of music, and the songs are played so much on the radio that they bug me now. However, after listening ot her on Stern, I have a newfound appreciation for her. Still don't care for her music, but I find her to be interesting and I'm a little jealous of her ability to say "fuck it" to the world and to do whatever she feels she likes to do.

I also loved it when Howard tried to get hr to explain how, in the beginnin when she was first out on her own, the stress she was feeling while trying to "make it", and she replied to him that she felt she had already made it. She was out on her own, paying her own way, had her own place, and was performing and doing what she loved. This was all well before any fame had reached her door. I really have to respect that.
