Ta bouche, Allanah, plus sublime que l'arc-en-ciel si discret,
M'emprisonne au coeur des tsunamis noisettes
Qui brouillent ton regard
Et me fait voler vers des sommets châtains
Comme un faucon que tu tiens dans la main...
Mais la nuit tombe...
Mon rêve se noie dans les profondeurs de mes songes
Tandis que brûle une charmante flamme au fond de moi.

Interesting fact: ma puce is a term of endearment, which literally means 'my flea' (yes the nasty, jumping, biting thing you find on dogs, as in: mon chien a des puces). Also, a relatively literal translation of the last verse would be: "While a charming flame burns at my bottom". Okay, I know he doesn't mean his ass is on fire, but I think, for the benefit of those who can't read French, please write in English. Internet translators come up with the weirdest things (which also explains the "tsunami hazelnuts which scramble your glance" that the automatic translation suggests).

Stick to English in the future dude. That said, I preferred your first poem.

Maybe I'm just jealous cause Allanah never replied to my little rhyme for her :) But I agree. No more poetry for a while. It's getting kind of cloying.

is actually a term a common term of endearment in france and french speaking countries

i learned that a year ago- it is quite funny
but i guess some our american terms of endearment can seem the same

As for terms of endearment, you're right, Allanah, they can be pretty surreal. The Germans call their sweethearts "little sausages" which I've heard one or two British people use, the French also use "my little cabbage", the Spanish I think use "melon heart". In the UK, don't be surprised to be called "pet" or "duckie", in Italian they may call you their "little animal" or their "creature". Some of the terms used in America perhaps may seem weird to other people elsewhere.
