Does someone have any news about Sylvia Boots (aka Amara Vadillo) who was send to prison for 45 years being convicted of first-degree murder for shooting the innocent victim Laura Banuelos?

Facing 45 years locked up in prison actually means the rest of the further life. A very sad story for both sides.
How is she dealing with the fact being imprisoned until only death releases her?
Or is there any serious chance to plea for a reprieve?

Don´t get me wrong, I condemn what she did and feel sorrow for her innocent victim, but the daily life in a male prison must be a real horror for her with all those long term inmates knowing that Sylvia will be the closest to a real woman the will get for the rest of their lives !!!

Either way something is wrong, the question is which. I am inclined to go with the later. Although I also believe that she was facing a stacked deck in the legal system for being trans, and that's why they threw the book at her (when they usually don't in other similar cases).

1-Boots is in prison, not jail. There is a difference.

2-People have been sentenced to 20+ years for rape and other crimes. Different states, different prosecutors, different judges and juries. That's why it's probably best not to commit a crime in the first place, especially manslaughter, kidnapping, murder, rape.

Uh, I read the link. A jailer in Alaska used pinks handcuffs sent to him by jailers in Arizona. Again, those are jails not prisons. Still not sure what the link has to do with a person in a Cali. prison.

Well it certainly seems like the judge had it out for her.

But with that said it seems this could have been totally avoided if she wasn't so hard headed (no pun intended) and stubborn. There were too many convenient encounters between those two. If someone has constantly threatened you. Had there friends beat you up. Had there boyfriend shoot you in the head and steal your car. Then maybe you should change your patterns. Maybe you should stop going to certain clubs where you know she might come to. Or if she simply told the police all of those facts Tanja would be in jail right now and the victim would be alive.

Also from reading the article Sylvia has a 100% chance of getting a mistrial called for her trial. The judge messed up. The prossecution was bias. Her lawyer was obviously inept and incompetent. That's if the facts were correct which I really doubt considering how bias that statement was. Also why would she not have enough money for a retrial? The website started out clamoring about how much money she was making in porn. Now she is suddenly a hard case who needs all of our help?

Well, I am not a lawyer, but if Sylvia's appeal was filed in January 2007 appellate court
has already had 2 ½ years to reach a decision.
– In my opinion quite a long time.
Anyhow, if the mercy of Christmas and the evident facts motivate the judges to agree
on a positive vote it was worth waiting.
I appreciate your efforts to find more from your friends on another forum

Fact is, it seems to be encouraged not to take personal responsibility anymore for your crimes. I don't know know why you even bother locking Sylvia up. Why not put a bullet in her head and be done with it? Oh, of course, because we are civilized now. In the middle of a fight with another girl, Sylvia went to her car, got her gun from it, brought it back to where she had been fighting and pointed it at the girl she was fighting with to try to end the fight. A struggle for the gun ensued, with the end result being another, innocent girl being killed. People can argue about why Sylvia did that, or how the trigger was pulled, but none of that changes that if when she got to her car, she had instead just driven it away, the fight would have ended, with no one losing their life, or their liberty. As soon as she brought back that gun, she was guilty of a crime, and things were not going to end well.
