Ha, ha not at all . I've been checking the site for the last year or so. It's simply a log of some the stupid, funny and crazy things New Yorkers hear in the streets everyday. Nothing nefarious about it at all. The lead in to the story made it seem like people are taping and playing back your private cell convos and sharing your pin number or something. Not even close. A sez to B, B says to A, end of the story. Most listings are one liners or such and are hilarious.

JWBL the lead in to story greatly distorted what's actually on the site. Remember NYC is walking city with everybody in close proximity. So a simple walk down any street or a ride on the subway and you're gonna hear the craziest, funniest , disgusting exchanges that you end on sharing with friends. That's it nothing sinister there.
