Planes Trains and Automobiles is probably my favorite comedy (Naked Gun is close too). Breakfast Club is of course a classic. Uncle Buck was great too.

It's weird how he all but disappeared after the 80's were done. I can't even remember the last film he directed. I'm not taking away from his talent or his actual movies but he kinda dropped off the face of the earth. It's like when the 80's ended, so did his career.

John Hughes (R.I.P.) 59 is definitely way to young to die.

He did produce a few very successful movies in the 90's. The two Home Alone films were his most popular. But according to Wikki, he hasn't done anything of note since 2001.

RIP - Hughes was only 2 years older than me, so yeah, way too young. I was never a big fan of his movies, but he tapped a vein of the zeitgeist to be sure.

The man who made the films that defined the youth culture generation of the 1980s.

Even if we weren't like them, we wanted to be like them.

RIP Mr Hughes.
