View Full Version : Can A Flag Function Be Added To This Board?

It's AMAZINGGGGGG how DISGUSTINGLY rude some of the individuals are to others on this board for no reason other that to fill their, OBVIOUSLY, miserable life and/or twisted minds.

How about adding a 'flag comment' option to this board?
Moderators can review the flagged comment/s and choose to ban the individual completely and people who are doing unnecessary flagging could be on the list of being completely banned as well.

:D

There'd be nothing/nobody left!

The moderators did a pretty good job last few days, they definitely had their hands full. When someone comes and shits all over a forum, it doesnt make me want to join their's, has exactly the opposite effect.

until it is, you can contact one of the mods and copy & paste the particular thread or reply that is bothering you

where would you draw the limit? pictures that you don't like(there are alot)?Stupid threads(there are alot)? nasty avatars(there are alot), profanity,Racist speech, a paragraph that is offensive but not racist(alot of those too)?Opposing political view that are clearly fucking stupid and enraging(i think we all have and post those)? And how do the moderators judge what is flagged? There are some people that are way to sensitive on here(you and we know who you are), should they be flagged because they bitch to much about being offended. Do we ban them because their skin isn't thick enough for the Internet? What about people that put themselves on here for the world to see and then don't like whats said? do we penalize them for being silly or do we go after the ones that are honest even if we don't like what they say? Where does it stop and start? Can i flag someone for thinking an A instead of an ER is somehow less offensive because of misspelling(even though Ass and Arse mean the same thing). This is a slippery slope. I say just leave the mods be, they are doing fine and this shit doesn't fill their pockets(they have shit to do off line people). It will get to a point where even the flags wont be responded to(or not fast enough for those thin skinned folks). What about those girl and guys crying Wolf and just having a bone to pick with some other poster. What if someone plays favorites? We are supposed to be adults on here. I suggest we try to conduct ourselves like so even in the face of extreme ignorance. The mods will take care of the problem people when it becomes necessary just like they have in the past.

Hardcore freedom of speech forever. The net is the last place where it's
even possible.

I think that we'd all agree that racist comments (the obvious slurs) are unacceptable particularly when directed to someone in a blatantly angry and/or racist context. I think we'd also agree that it's a slippery slope once you start deciding what else is unacceptable. I'm not talking petty arguments or political disagreements but when someone responds to someone else's statements with "NIGGER" "SPIC" or the like (yes, what exactly is "the like?" might be your point), that's pretty easy to spot. Don't you think there ought to be some threshold or line that someone crosses over on what'll get you tossed off HA?

Yes. there are a NUMBER of RACIAL SLURS that can be added to that list.

And to Quiet Reflections,

I guess some SO-CALLED adults are entitled to just bombard people with ignorance? Is that what you mean? I haven't noticed YOU with anything of such foolishness.

I guess there will always be some mentally slow or unhappy person who wants to play internet thug because they can't do it in real life. And, there will always be those who accept it because that's the ACTION they've grown to know in their own life.

Eh, blah.... WTF EVERRRR.. What gets puts out under a screen name will get back to them in real life anyway.

Your right racist comments are wrong. My main issue is who sets whats offensive? Some people use the terms like Liberal and Socialist trying to be hurtful and thats not racist but is considered offensive by some, Do we flag that? Words can hurt in all forms not just Profanity and some people on here can turn a phrase quite well. Do we limit what people with great vocabularies say?

YES Everyone is free to be as ignorant as they want and say what they want. No of course we don't have to stand for it but there in lies the problem, What is the proper response to something so incredibly stupid. Do you ignore it,Ban them, or Let the intelligent adults defend themselves? And no I wont get on here and spout all that negativity and foolishness but thats me and i have learned over the years that i can say what i mean with out using much venom. We will never stop the E thugs but we also shouldn't become them to fight back either. Using the Ban hammer to often will destroy this community. We here are a minority within many different minorities When we start cutting down our own numbers we endanger our own survival.
