Probably my favorite that I've been listening to lately is Neil Young's Helpless sung at The Bands : The Last Waltz with Joni Mitchell (could also be the Band in there too). Fricken amazing

Here it is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzReSBaben8

And as cheesy as it may be, Islands in the Stream...Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers.

islands in the stream is a great song jay!

Really i don't believe in favorites because at different times in everyones life certain music takes on different meanings and my favorite right now will change next week with my mood but all of them will still be great songs. In past i have found that people that have absolute favorites of anything are generally not to open minded and short sighted.

I say cheesy as I know there aren't a lot of people are country fans. On a Canadian note...that song was covered by The Constantines and Feist (that 1,2,3,4 Apple song). Really nice.

Queen and David Bowie - Under Pressure.

I was never much of a fan of Queen but that song was fantastic. At least you didn't pick Bowie and Mick Jagger doing Dancing In the Streets!

I'm going to Simon and Garfunkel concert next weekend. A bit surprised to get this famous duo in New Zealand, but a concert I couldn't miss - their duets are legendary!

There's another one..really obscure but it's by Frank Black of The Pixies fame. It's called Strange Goodbye. He sung it with his ex-wife.

"The Closer I Get To You", by Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway

"If This World Were Mine", by Luther Vandross and Cheryl Lynn (I like their version better than the original by Marvin and Tammi)

"Fire & Desire", by Rick James and Teena Marie (also "Happy" and "The Once and Future Dream")

These three plus spring to mind first hand. :)
