I was oddly pissed off that Obama had a to give a (well-written) speech in Cairo sanctifying irrational religious perspectives...

He could've easily presented the same speech to social conservatives (Oklahoma, religious universities, etc).

Any religion is absurd (by definition)... but it evolved inside our brains for a reason, it allowed our ancestors to survive, somehow.

Perhaps religion allows people to more easily kill (than with without the gene) hence spreading religious genomes?
