horror movies were only really scary as a kid. Now they're more like action movies with all the cinematics and shyt. i want to see this movie, but i doubt i'll be scared by it.

From the preview alone it just felt lame. Ooooh another cute, white blonde haunted by forces beyond her control! Get this tired hollywood shit out of here.

Sam Rami needs Spiderman or Ash to make his movies rock. Another Fail.

Well, if you're going to this movie for the pure horror flick aspect of it, you'll be disappointed as it is punctuated by funny and cheesy lines throughout. But, for pure entertainment value, I thought it was ok. Strange that for a horror flick there is absolutely no blood in the whole movie (except for one small part) which makes most all the scenes terribly absurd. anyway... for the genre, it was good.

I do want to see it. I'm a big fan of Evil Dead and heard that this was a return of sorts for Raimi.

But in the end I wand Ash back. Evil Dead 4!

If you like Raimi and evil dead you will really enjoy this movie! This is a horror/comedy movie, just like evil dead and army of darkness.

If youve seen evil dead and army of drakness you will be smiling to yourself through out this movie, as there are smilar scenes and ash quotes!

Overall Id say this move is a 3 1/2 out of 5 But for you evil dead fans 4/5

And for you that are interested, Raimi is remaking Evil Dead!!

Hey thanks for that review. I'll definitely see it. On the remake end...I just got finished looking around on evil dead stuff. Seems that the remake fizzled out (I'm glad), but they are writing an Evil Dead 4 script!! Very cool. Will Ash be old and retired from S Mart?

it was a pretty good movie. i love evil dead and it has a lot of the evil dead elements in it. but bottom line was the bitch should have paid her bills....

The only reason i'm interested in it is because of rami and don't like american horror these days be its crap i tend to like foreign horror.

it's not even a horror movie it's more of a comedy that isnt funny...a few gross scenes (not scary or gory just gross shit), a few ghosts popping out trying to scare the audience which are very predictable and not scary at all, and then ALOT of absolutely unrealistic and unnecessary scenes where they were either trying to be funny or something but it just wasn't working.... i give it 2 out of ten stars .... just to give you an idea of what the movie is like; in one scene the girl gets attacked by a ghost and it just so happens that there is an ANVIL ...yes a fucking ANVIL hoisted up by a rope onto a pulley kind of like the shit you see on wiley coyote...anyway it just so happens the anvil is right above the ghost so the girl cuts the rope and it lands on the ghost... wowee! fart in my pants shitstain of a film

whenever i see a horror movie rated pg13 it is an immediate pass...

Not being R just means there's not a ton of gore/vulgarities/sex you can still make a quality horror film without those things.

It's definitely a horror film though, there are comedic scenes throughout the movie though. And "unrealistic" and "unnecessary" are not valid criticisms in a movie that isn't trying to be wholly realistic and doing so in many cases for the sake of humor. Taking a comedic movie seriously pretty much guarantees you're not going to enjoy it.
