My trip to and from work (Lynwood to Sun Valley) is a 30 mile drive on the 710 and the 5, so I have plenty of time to listen to music. I'm in a jazz mood right now: Patrice Rushen's Prelusion (her first album) and Bobbi Humphrey's Blacks & Blues (if you're looking for breaks, I recommend this album highly). I have started listening to Grover Washington Jr's first six albums as well.

Brilliant. I love live albums, not just because it sorts out those who can cut it from those who can't, but you can really feel the energy of the crowd.
(I listen to at least one whole album every evening, so I'll keep the ball rolling.....)
NIN's latest. Think I like it better than Year Zero, but not quite as much as With Teeth or The Fragile. Didn't really care for Ghosts.

Peggy, Maggot Brain (the album as a whole AND the song) is classic, as is that Last Poets album...unless you don't like hearing the "N" word.

^ That's my favourite Beatles album.
I picked up Crystal Castles (by Crystal Castles) and Invaders Must Die (Prodigy) at the same time. I listened to both at the same time, can't remember which order I listened to them in so I'll just say both.
I ripped the CDs to MP3, put them on my iPod, plugged that sucker into my speakers, and let them run through. I ended up listening to each album 3 times. Amazing collections of electronica, each in their own ways.
http://www.labellife.net/culture/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/imdcover.jpg
Invaders in many ways harkens back to the older 90s styles of electronica, very heavy, very pumping, very ravy, superbly arranged. It's the kind of album that takes hold of you and kicks your teeth in, the way a good punk rock song can.
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_pnNAzmw3qZo/SXkIyc8d28I/AAAAAAAAAWQ/mryrdpJTtHw/s320/castles.jpg
On the other hand Crystal Castles has an amazingly trancy vibe that is rather hypnotic, very informed by the current, 80s nostalgia trend, but distinguished from the current trend by a very very cool video game style sensibility, much more mellow than Invaders but every bit as engaging, the kind of album that makes everything outside your brain and your ears disappear for a bit.

'Lights and Music' and 'Hearts on Fire' were the 2 singles, they got relatively big down here. Hell I think the album itself was #1 in the Aussie charts for a while.
I just really liked how ridiculously 80s they were, plus I hooked up with an amazing Spanish photography student to Lights and Music, so there's that whole 'music triggers mnemonic recall' magic.

The album has grown on me and some of my favorite albums were ones that I didn't get at first but would still put on from time to time and eventually loved. I remember the first time I listened to it I wasn't impressed at all; that was a few months ago and I've only really started to listen to it repeatedly now. It gives me a feeling similar to MSTRKRFT's first album "The Looks" (which I would always put on if I just wanted a fun album to dance to while getting things done at home) although I'd say this is better now. I'm not sure which songs are singles so it'd be hard for me to say how the other songs compare.
Amazing album, isn't it? I thought it was very, very light in the beginning...had the feeling I would never like it at all, actually. But it's dancey, glorious, fun to listen and sing to! And as feel good as chewing gum is sticky to my shoes.
