Yeah man Snoop is real young there, it's hard to believe that it's been 15 years since that soundtrack came out, time sure did fly by quick. Personally I prefer triple six before their "When the Smoke Clears" album came out(don't get wrong though, it was a good album), I guess because their music was a little more dark back then. Oh I forgot this album is from '95.

The most recent album by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Cave is now 50, he's 50 and released this album. An album more intense and psychological that anything 'faux-art-rock band du jour' could ever do in their wildest dreams.

By the way, Willie, this thread rocks. It has actually made me start listening to albums completely again, as opposed to the hunt and peck style of listening.

Sharing Space byAussie band Cog.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/83/Sharingspace.jpg

Fantastic, intense, powerful, rock-and-mother-fucking-roll.

You gotta love a band who have the audacity to release as their first single [What If] a song which alternates unconventional time signatures - jumping from 5/4 to 3/4 throughout... progressing from a melodic beginning into a epic distortion-drenched finale.

Moody, sweeping, anthemic, amazingly moving album.

I just finished listening to Grover Washington Jr.'s Mister Magic...again. Hearing Harvey Mason's drumming and Bob James' arrangements reminded me why I love this album so much. I even use the song "Black Frost" as one of my ringback tones!

I just finished listening to En Saga I Belgia, the new album from Leaves Eyes.

Truthfully? I found it painful.

Usually I won't listen to anything recorded live, regardless the band, so I wasn't expecting this to be the best album I've listened to this year.

Liv Kristine is an amazing vocalist, she's good live, and the stuff she did early in her career with Theatre of Tragedy is beyond brilliant... THIS, on the other hand, was not. The quality of the recording disappointed me, I know they are capable of sounding great live so I am wondering if it was whoever was in charge of their AV crew during this performance.

My favorite album of all time. From the first song to the last song. He hit so many topics on that one.

Just finished listening to Teena Marie's Passion Play. Boy did the critics sleep on this one!

Up next is Jerry Butler's The Philadelphia Sessions. After that, I don't know! Maybe some early E-40?

John Coltrane--Africa Brass, Vols. 1 & 2
Donald Byrd--Places and Spaces
Kool and the Gang--their self-titled first album

P.S. Count me as another vote for Innervisions. Stevie Wonder was at the top of his game during the 1970s.

Now playing: Les McCann--An Invitation To Openness

Cool European EBM swaying over synth washes of cool melancholy. It does ring true to me. Try headphones to it, and dance, sing away.
