so sad so sad ....
I watch her on t.v. everyday and she was a wonderfully brilliant
she died this morning of cancer in her home . Her humor was timeless and will live on long beyond her years . She will be missed .

Ah, that's sad. She was real old-school talent, very polished.

:-( Well all that's left to say is "thankyou for being a friend." At least she had a long full life.

She was great in "Maude" and "Golden Girls". A wonderful actress and beautiful in her own way.

She was brilliant for so many years and was complete class in the Golden Girls, one thing that pleased me is it said she died peacefully which is the only thing you can hope for with death.

Sad news. She was the only funny character in a crappy show.

My mother and grandmother watched Golden Girls all the time, and by extension, being a kid I watched it a lot too.

RIP

Her best recurring line in Maude was "God'll get ya for that, Walter!"

That's bad news. Golden Girls was, and still is, one of my favorite shows.

Sad that she died, I wounder if the other 2 surviving Golden girls will go to her funeral?
I still can not get over when Estelle Getty (the mother) died none of them when to her funeral. Kind of selfish IMO

Maude was one of her best acting job. Golden Girls was cool, friend of mine worked on the set.

Maude was ahead of its time, WAY ahead especially for women in the early to mid 70's social/cultural issues.

That's what out of the box writing will do for a show, think Mary Tyler Moore as well.
