I have a friend who is beginning her transition. She will be going to a counselor and will begin hormones in the near future. She still dresses like a guy and whatnot. I was wondering if there is any advice that you can provide so I can pass it along to her.

Any comments will be appreciated.

Or more accurately: by not dressing like a guy.

Pressuring anyone to go FT before they're ready is reckless. Pressuring someone to go FT in order to get HRT is reckless, etc. If she runs into anyone who makes those kinds of demands (doctors, shrinks etc), go find someone else. There's no reason to patronize an authoritarian, uninformed asshat pretending to be a doctor.

What are you going to do... offer advice, then when your "friend" asks how you know that, tell your her that you cruise a transsexual porn forum and asked a question on behalf of her.
