I can't find a recording of it by him, but from the Cry of Love album, "My Friend" & "Bellybutton Window".

Damn, those are my favorites too.

Gotta throw in Machine Gun too. He was going some where good before his untimely death.

Jimi did so many great ones, I could probably list 20 or more. Previous posts have mentioned two of my favorites, Red House and All Along the Watchtower. The latter, was written by Bob Dylan, who was one of Jimi's inspirations.

Actually, it's a toss-up between:

All Along The Watch Tower ...... and
The Wind Cries Mary.....

Pick up the Box Set, there is a 7 minute instrumental of Axis Bold as Love that is the most beautiful thing I have ever heard.....it was a studio outake...Jimi got into one of his zones......he is my favorite artist of all time...too bad he died 6 years before I was born.....

DOLLY DAGGER and any other with Mich Mitchell on drums . Buddy Miles couldnt come close to Mitch and I thought the whole Band of Gypsies sucked big time.

Thanks, that was cool. Coincidentally, just before getting back on the puter I purchased the Jimi Hendrix Track Pak 2 for Guitar Hero World Tour.

It's tough to pick a favorite Hendrix song, cuz that could change by next week. For today I choose Stone Free.

Saw Jimi Hendrix play three times, what a fuckin' enormous memory!!! If I had to pick a favorite song it would be "All Along The Watchtower", although I don't think he ever did a bad song.

Was going to say Voodoo Child but so many have already picked that one.

Then was going to say Watchtower but several have picked that one too.

So I'll go with Hey Joe, partly because it's the only Hendrix song I ever learned to play all the way through.

I don't think the band of gypsys sucked...The sound was different, less commercial.

Yeah cept Watchtower is a sight easier to sing and play together.....most people think of Hendrix as a great guitar player, which he was, but he was also an incredible singer. 40 years after the fact, the way he worked rhythm between the voice and the guitar is still amazing. And very demanding.

Fucking brilliant avatar, BTW
