Hi,
I've posted previously about getting into making transsexual porn and got a lot of informative, helpful feedback.
Turns out it'll be a while before I have the cash flow to pursue this dream at full steam, but now my question is: Do any existing producers here in New York have need for an enthusiastic crew member like me? A former film student and web editor, I can shoot on virtually any camera--film, dv, etc.--and I'm fluent in Final Cut Pro, Premiere and other post tools.
I had a partner/mentor who owned the DVX-100A, light kit and editing suite I was using for non-porn gigs. He was interested in possibly making some porn, but his rabid homophobia would make getting his cooperation for a tgirl shoot impossible. When I told him I also want to make non-porn dramatic films with transsexual women, he freaked.
I know I shouldn't expect much professional feedback on this informal forum, but I'm seriously interested in this stuff. Don't believe me? Drop me an email address and I'll send you links to tgirl trailers I've edited just for fun.
