I agree with you on the Stones, and with many others on here regarding other 70's hits. Great to hear The Boss, BOC, and Robin Trower(among others) mentioned by people also. As far as BOC goes I would add my personal favorite 'The Last Days of May', particularly the live version where Buck Dharma rips the song a new asshole with his guitar solo.

BUT DUDE...'Chevy Van'? THAT HAS GOT TO BE ONE OF THE CHEESIEST SONGS EVER RECORDED! It's right up there with 'Billy, Don't Be a Hero' and 'Daddy, Don't You Walk So Fast'! Not something I'd expect to hear from a Stones fan, but it would be a good starter for a cheesiest/lamest songs ever thread... :wink:

The Loco-Motion?) New Wave clearly saved not only the 70's, but rock music in general, IMHO.

I see where you're coming from. I remember seeing Elvis Costello in a small venue in San Diego on his first US tour, not long after 'My Aim Is True' came out. Awesome show! The "backup acts" were Nick Lowe with Rockpile and Mink Deville!! As far as great music goes, I haven't seen too many shows that were better, and I've seen a lot of them!
