I'd rather see them lip synching than not at all. But as a professional musician, they are not that interesting to me either. What I find really interesting is just for them to talk about things that are interesting to them. I get a feel of the real person. But in the case of the link, I just like seeing her. But having the person talk, puts it on another level.

Here's a related link that only posted three vids a year ago. If she didn't say that she was ts, I wouldn't know. She's not lipsyncing and it works just as well as far as seeing her move. I think its better than a picture, because pics are easy to retouch.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but the "talent" portion of just about every pageant for the last umpteen years have been girls dancing and lipsinking. Some of these have been considered the mothers of the most famous houses. If I'm correct and that's the case, it seems like the OP is invalidating just about every pageant ever held.


In addition, while there are not currently any clubs in NYC like this, I'm pretty sure there are on other major cities (Chicago?) where that's the WHOLE entertainment. Are these who establishments somehow "invalid"?

I don't personally get into the lipsynching shows. I much rather them actually sing and perform. Alas at least it is a common ground that the girls can meet on and have fun doing, and there most certainly is an audience for it so as long as the demand is there... I've noticed at Balls and such that it tends to be more a Popularity Contest like in High School instead of judging by actual talent which further decreases what little interest I had.

I do see a difference between performing in a club and on Youtube though. If I'm at a club I may not care for this particular form of entertainment, but I'll still 'Tip' just to support the performers cause, especially if they actually put some work into it. Youtube performance is not going to receive any attention on my pc. I'd rather watch the girl talk or even just dance to music, than lipsynch on Youtube.

Take a moment to be educated. Broadway singing and acting is live. If you're sick they have an understudy (also live). Backing tracks are expressly forbidden and punishable by huge fines. The dancing is however prerecorded, astute is your middle name!!! :)

The recording is for "the original cast recording" you buy it anywhere.

Youtube is just a wicked source of net traffic some of my mates do music videos on it where they mime, dance etc to songs...but on their linkings it takes you to their paysites, escort sites etc, seems quite a popular method of driving traffic....

Gets them a fanbase as well i guess..
