This is some questions hoping to get answered, one of the big reason why I join up here.

I've seen shemales gon into the porno business but not the employee business, like teacher, boss of a company, singer, worker, scientist. Anything blue or white collard.

Are there any? Do they have to hide that lifestyle and not talk about it cause it will ruin there rep? Not trying to pry in the business or in other user's but I wish to know do shemales take a different road to being sucessful? Or is it your a dickgirl and you belong in the porno industry? google or any search engines won't look up anything on that question, I use pre op tran but it just assumes I mean post op.

I ask this cause I'm learning engineering but as well wanna be a shemale.

Well thats my question. Hope it can get answered.

This is for two reasons:

A. Because, globally, most tgirls are systemically discriminated against and employers see them as 'freaks' (or too much of a risk to hire them, because other companies do).

Even in the US, where people claim to be 'free' and protect the rights of all people, employers do the same things to all tgirls, barring some extreme exceptions (like if the girl is extreme stealth and faked her documents, if she was in a position where the company would lose a sizable amount of their clients if she left, GLBT organizations who have no other option than find some menial jobs for them, etc). It is pretty much standard that if a girl transitions on the job, she will get fired, for some unrelated BS, and afterwards, no company will hire her for the same position at the same rate, ever again.

B. People are more exposed in the porn industry than in the public eye. Most of the girls i've seen with mainstream jobs have been things like hair sylists, and if they're passable enough, no one would even notice it. And, remember, this isn't a transitioning forum, it's more of a porn forum, than anything.

If you transition early enough, you have the best odds for being stealth, so I would do that now if I were you, and you were serious. It's the best odds of you being not discriminated against (no matter how low they are).

I'm sorry for asking but I was in desperate need to look for a forum to ask the question, but atleast you gave me a clue on to find a forum to ask this question. I hope I can get more opinons, would help me. Still though, seem pretty queer to not hire a women who has a penis but has more intellgence then the motherfuckers in the employee room, seems very stupid.

Well this is a porno thread I can't take this further, I'll stop my opinon here, and find a transition forum.

The "pretense" of the US being an "open" society is just another lie.

Being "different" is becoming more and more dangerous in America, as it drifts close to facism.

But there are those who want to be a shemale for other reason maybe to unleash there womanly side and to be both genders, if they want to continue to bring children in this world and have a secret kinky side, seems no different then the usual female employee getting felt up and invites the other partner to her place and stuff, dunno why facism should include that, stupidity kinda hits me with such confusion.

I know many girls who are not exactly passable who are employed. Jobs ranging from hair stylist, make up artists, maids, front desk clerks, retail/fast food workers, and so on. I know while I was working in retail management, I never offered the info., and they never asked. I dont know to this day if they knew or not, and still keep in touch with some of the girls from there. I worked with all women, in a womens intimate apparel store. I think it helped also, that all my Info on my ID is switched over, including the sex. Thats a big relief

They're called "transsexuals", are regular in jobs, and live 'normal' lives etc throughout society.

Shemale is more of a sex industry term.

My doctor is a transwoman, my electrologists were both transwomen. I've had friends who worked as receptionists, nurses, massage therapists, acupuncturists, nanny's, waitresses, clothing wholesalers, working artists, professors, community activists, etc...

If you come to a message board that is primarily a vehicle to sell tranny porn, then of course you are going to be under the impression that TS are all involved in porn one way or another. Fact of the matter, I have a lot of friends who are trans and only 2 of them have ever done any porn.

Again apologies, but the other politcal transsexual forums wouldn't activate my account yet. Thank you for helping me with my question. I guess I feel a bit stupid now that I got my answers. Should've known better.

Although this is mostly a porn forum, there are a huge number of people viewing and posting, so if you post a general question you at least have a good chance of getting an answer, and some thoughtful ones too. You need not apologize for the questions.

In my experience, the situation affecting TGirls in the USA is a lot like what "Nowhere" stated in the 2nd response. There's a lot of discrimination. A typical scenario is a TGirl is told to either change her dress habits (i.e. go into "boy mode") or be fired. I believe an employee can be sued for such overt discrimination; therefore, an even more common scenario is to refuse to hire you, or a dismissal from a job, without saying the real reason why. I've known several cases.

On the other hand, it's nice to hear from tsmandy that a lot of TGirls can get and keep good jobs. However, I would suppose this strongly depends on the location within the USA. tsmandy lives in Portland, which I think is more liberal about these issues than most other cities.

Actually, acceptance in the workplace has more to do with how you present, behave, and dress yourself in professional(workplace) settings. We have all met TG's in our daily lives and never known.

While discrimination exists, it still is the right of the employer to hire a good match for their company. Otherwise, the day will come when they are required to hire the first person who applies, regardless of qualifications, or ability to disrupt day to day workings of the company.

Be professional, or be a whore... it's up to you, you will be treated accordingly.

Yes I do too Celeste. And i know with my own transition it has been difficult working in the same field As I did prior to transitioning. That is why I am actually looking to make a change into a more Tgirl friendly career..

SO I know first hand why you find so many TS in the adult industry...

I've only known two TS's in my corportate working life. One was a in a marketing group and the other was a software engineer. They were pretty on the ball, however most other girls I've know where in the hair/makeup/arts employ.

I'm sure many of the girls here are on the escort/porn side of business. Not much need to know C++ or how to use excel.

What I'm going for is robotics engineering/and aeronautics, it's funny when you think about it, a TG going into those type of jobs, but I love math and creating, I asked desperate questions from time to time to hear opinons from other sucessful TS's.

I think there is still a good bit of discrimination, and see folks suffer under it. Stoked is right in that there are folks who can be stealthy enough that folks don't know, but if you are more visible expect to catch more trouble.

Stoked is not right in that it is based on whether you look professional or whore... at least not from what I've seen. Passable or not is much more deciding.
