Hey Mandy, that sounded provocative enough for me to do a couple of google searches, and I couldn't find anything about a quarantine of gays as advocated by Ron Paul. He isn't exactly a poster child for gay rights, but I didn't find anything like this.

I may be alot of things, but I'm rarely confused. Ron Paul was endorsed by David Duke and received financial contributions for his campaign, and a brief search on the terms Ron Paul + HIV returns alot of info from his campaign for president in 1988 when he not only advocated quarantine for HIV, but also expulsion for students with HIV and other draconian measures. Obviously his stance on HIV has changed over time, but it doesn't change the fact that he said those things any more than Arrianna Huffington breaking up with Michael changes the fact that she used to be a right winger.

Anyways, I'd jump in the sack with Huffington in a heartbeat, I bet she would be a cruel and unrelenting mistress.

Mandy, You are one of the most level-headed posters on HA, but you may have gotten this one wrong. I never heard these things about Paul so I did a bit of digging, not in-depth I'll admit, but I found credible news items. I stay clear of blogs as sources.


Maybe I'm wrong on this one, the damn blogosphere is making it impossible to use a search function these days without spending 4 hours looking for the source I originally learned my info from.

And yeah, I'm also confusing Huckabee with Paul on the quarantine. Either way, both canidates seemed to have changed their outspoken positions on HIV since they used it for political leverage in the 80's along with every other politician in America.
